--Valentino POV--
The first time I laid eyes on her was like a moment out of a dream I didn't know I had. They say that Vita is the embodiment of life, and that day, I saw that life in her eyes, glowing a brighter shade of Amazonian green than the world had ever seen.
I should have done a better job at protecting it. Those eyes, that life, and the joy that they were able to spread to so many people; I should have done a better job.
"Valentino. What's the situation?" He gruffly asked.
"It's infested; There's no way anyone could make it through this Sea without dying in the process." I bluntly answered, a single hand placed in front of me as I cast a protective water barrier up around the ship I was stood on, hoarding off all the monsters that were lurking around, trying to pounce.
He scoffed, not liking the obvious answer, but he should have known better than to get his hopes up for something that was doomed from the start. The Cursed Sea wasn't given its name for no reason, all the monsters that were glaring at me with their bloodthirsty eyes were only proving my point. He's lucky he can't see what I can.
"It was all a waste of time then." Without another word, he spun on his feet, heading back inside the ship with an annoyed scowl etched across his wrinkled face.
That man is my father, Alpheus St Andres Octavius. The current ruler of Lysandra, and the man I despised with every inch of my body and soul. He, who was covered in the blood of innocents, and me, his useless son who did nothing but watch.
"Land Ahoy!" The man stood on the crow's nest alerted everyone as I picked my head up, looking away from the surface of the sea to be met with the sight of a deserted island.
A tired breath of air escaped my lungs, and all of a sudden, my arm which had been held up for hours on end was starting to throb as if alerting me that I needed to rest.
"A deserted island." I mumbled, observing the distant land that drew closer.
"The captain asked if we should stop for a moment of rest, your highness? Your arm must be tired..." One of the servants brought me out of my daydreams, coming to stand by me with his head tilted down in a respectful manner.
"Yes. Let my father know before we stop," He nodded his head before rushing off, and I released another sigh with his absence, continuing to observe the island as I did. If not for the fact that it was surrounded by sea monsters, my father would most likely have tried to build himself a resort here. Sometimes, I am thankful to the world in which I live.
Once the Ship hit the sands of the beach, all the crew members began running around to complete their tasks at hand in making sure the ship was secure while I leisurely headed down to the island, standing by the coast as I looked around at the scenery.
