--Alexa POV--
It turns out that Amira and her family of pirates were travelling through the Cursed Ocean to get to the East for reasons unknown. They were a crew of pirates that didn't settle down in one place for too long, and sticking to that rule, they planned on staying at this island for a day at most.
"So, you don't remember anything? Not even your full name?" She asked.
Right now, both Amira and I were sat on the beach eating mangos together as John spoke to Noah, the Captain of their ship, in the back. Seeing Amira and I get along forced them to put their own guards down as they quickly realised that neither of us were each other's enemies.
"Nope. But I'm sure my memories will come back one day, John's helping as much as he can," She hummed, going to take another bite of the fruit in her hands, licking her lips a moment later in satisfaction.
She was the same age as John, being 16, which surprised me a little since she looked younger than me, but I couldn't bring myself to say that in case I offended her. And she was pretty too, I don't remember seeing any humans before, but she was a sort of pretty that made me want to keep looking at her.
John was pretty too, with honey-brown hair, and hazel eyes, and I realised; Maybe I'm the type of person that likes pretty things, or in this case, people? It's an interesting revelation.
"Is being a Dreamer scary?" I curiously asked as she shifted to give me her attention, thankfully, not seeming to mind it as she answered with a shrug.
"Not really, if you know how to hide it then it's fine, people treat you the same. But I do think it's quite funny... How the most feared class of magic users are called Dreamers, but we're probably the only beings that are unable to dream."
"Oh, I'm sorry," I regretted prying as soon as I heard her words.
"No need to be sorry, it was a question that I didn't mind answering. I'm just grateful that you're not scared of me. Most people run away screaming to call the knights as soon as they learn that I'm a Dreamer." Well, there aren't exactly any knights on this island for me to go screaming to.
"Why would I be scared of you?"
"Because I can kill you with a single sentence." She laughed as if it were obvious.
"But you wouldn't, would you?" I raised a brow as she finished laughing, shaking her head.
"I only curse those who mean me or my crew any harm, that's usually just the monsters. If you're a human who's wronged me, I might curse you, but never with death."
She didn't need to say it for me to know, but she wasn't a Dreamer than meant anyone any harm. Like me, she was just trying to get through life despite how horribly it treated her, and I couldn't help but respect her for that.
"I have nothing to be afraid of you for then." I laughed.
"If only the rest of the world was as understanding as you, Alexa." She sighed, a distant smile on her face, eyes the same colour of the ocean seeming to stare right back at her.
