The church had a calm atmosphere, emitting an almost reassuring feeling. The building itself wasn't in good shape. One of the chandeliers that were once attached to the ceiling was now on the floor, which broke most likely from its fall. The wooden benches were old and cracked, some were even turned in the oddest position that they could be. Wooden boards were scattered all around the place. But even through all that, the church still had this fairy aspect that was making it so beautiful. The daylight filtrated through the stained glasses of the church, and from the holes in the roof, reflecting on the flower bed in the back of the room, where another hole in the floor was, enlightening the scene playing in front of Aerith's eyes.
Once again, the Turk, Reno, had come to take her. Even though they had stopped trying, thanks to Cloud's presence, Shinra never gave up on her. So, when the Turks heard that Cloud would be away for some days and that Aerith wouldn't come with him, they knew it was an excellent opportunity to finally get her.
And here they are, Reno, escorted by three troopers, with one order: to take Aerith 'unarmed' and to bring her back to Hojo's lab. She thought she had no chance of escaping, that is until a mysterious woman jumped from the roof and landed in front of her. She made it clear that she was there to help her, much to Reno's annoyance.
Everything was going smoothly, so couldn't he have at least one mission done without complications?! Why did another stranger have to come in his way?! He never heard that Aerith got a new bodyguard, so who is this party popper?! Harf... Anyway... they are 4 against 1, she can't fight us all at once, can she? Plus, she doesn't even have a weapon... Never mind, she does have a weapon, amazing, truly amazing!
"You know what you have to do, finish the girl. And take the ancient."
She got into a fighting stance, and so do I.
We are in a triangular formation. Two of the troopers are forming a front line and one is set back. They all started to shoot at the same time as I stood back waiting for the right moment to strike.
When they started shooting at you, you swung your sword in front of you, you swung your sword in front of you, protecting yourself from the bullets, and you ran to the troopers on your left. Then, you swung your sword to the left and did a lateral blow to the right at the troopers. He tried to dodge it, but you don't leave him the time to balance himself and throw your left leg behind his foot tackling him to the ground. You have a beautiful and robust sword, made of steel. The rays of the sun make the blade shine a little.
Injured and without any way to defend himself, you see the trooper back away in fear. You have no intention of killing him, so you redirect your interest to the 2 left. You are quick to dispose of them, doing your best to not harm them too much. Because even if they are trying to kill you, you know that they don't really have a choice, they must obey orders, or else they'll get fired, or worse...
Unfortunately, Reno took notice of it and told to himself to not forget that, feeling that this could be relatively useful if they meet paths again. He was still annoyed though, and when he saw that all your attention was on the last trooper, trying to disarm him, he went on the action and jumped at you aiming at your head. You didn't hear him come, so when you realized what he was doing, you just had the time to throw yourself out of his way, sparing your head a painful headache. But he still managed to hit you in the shoulder, sending a jolt of electricity to your body. It hurt but you had to stay focused on the task at hand, which is to stop your opponent to allow the girl, Aerith, to escape. Reno jumped at you again, but this time, you block the attack sending him backward, not wanting to kill him, and the fault of the lack of options.
"Ya know, it's not because you're trying to not harm me that I'll return the service." He said, still fighting. "Good-looking or not, if you stand in my way, I'll have no choice but to kill you, yo!"
... ''Kill me' you thought, repeating his words in your mind. 'How many people would love to kill me right now... probably a lot... If I die today, will the lifestream accept my corrupted soul...? No... I haven't done enough to gain redemption; I don't deserve forgiveness or acceptance. Either alive or demise. But then again, I don't have the right to live either. The only path available for me is to suffer a life worse than death itself, cursed to live an endless downfall till I eventually die in death without serenity.' After a certain amount of time, you manage to put Reno K.O. Of course, you have several injuries, but nothing too critical. You had to quickly move to go away as much as you could before they woke up and potentially chase after you two. Turning to talk to Aerith, you catch her looking at Reno with a sorry and worried face. 'She cares for him' you thought. 'Even if he tried to capture her, she still cares about his well-being.'
"Don't worry" you say, making her look at you. "He will be fine; he should wake up in not so much time. This guy's not weak." The sad worried look on her face turns into one of relief as soon as you spoke those words and she smiled at you.
"Thank you... hum... sorry, what's your name?"
"My name is (Y/N). And I believe yours is Aerith, right?"
"Yup!" Aerith said, smiling. "Since you helped me, I must repay you!" She then looks at your body and notices your injuries. "Oh my! We must take care of those wounds immediately!" She took your hand, starting to walk out "Come with me!"
'Do I deserve to be helped? This girl... She doesn't even know me... Why is she helping me...? But I can't let her go to wherever she is going alone, there could be more of those Shinra people looking for her. This isn't safe for her. But still, I cannot accept her aid, it's not right of me to do so...'
"Right, I'll come with you. Consider me as an escort. In case there is more trouble, I'll be here to help you. But I cannot assure you that I'll stay once we arrive at our destination."
