And before anyone could protest, Aerith clasped her hand together. "That's it then! Let's go find Cloud!" She exclaimed happily, although worry still evident in her voice.
"Or save him." Added Barret.
"I'd rather not think about this possibility just yet..." Tifa muttered.
_
After that, Barret and Tifa went their ways to get ready, while you and Aerith waited in front of the bar. Both of you already had what you needed, which wasn't much. It wasn't like you were leaving for some big trip, only to find someone that was probably safe and sound somewhere. And it is not as if you really had anything to take. You had your weapon and money, and there was nothing of great importance in your flat.
After a bit, Tifa and Barret came out. Just as they did, two men and a woman arrived. They both wore some sort of armour, an
"Wedge, Biggs, Jessie, glad you could come this quickly. Here." Tifa gives the key to the Seven Heavens to Biggs. "I count on you three to keep it going while I am away."
"And to keep an eye on Marlene. We shouldn't be away for much, but still." Barret added, patting Wedge's shoulder.
"No worries lads, we won't let you down," Jessie affirmed, giving a thumbs up to the group.
"Well, we're going to get started, Junon is quite some miles away from here. The sooner we arrive, the better." Aerith prompted the others to get moving, and so after some rapid goodbyes you were on your way to Junon. As you walked, still not out of Midgar mind you, you struck up the conversation. It wasn't your habit to do so, but you needed to make the point of the destination of this little trip.
"So, Junon, this is where we will find Cloud? What did he go to do there exactly?"
At that Tifa and Barret also looked at Aerith, waiting for the full story too.
"Well, it all began as we were tending to the flowers together. I was talking about the flower sales and how I felt like fewer and fewer people were interested in buying them. Cloud then tried to comfort me, and looked for an explanation, which was that maybe the habitants were growing bored of always buying the same kind of flowers. And since it is true that I do not have that many varieties, we both found this idea pertinent. It then led me to talk about flowers and how there were so many that I could grow here. And then he told me that he would go buy flower seeds for me, which I happily accepted.
-
"Well then, let me buy flower seeds for you. I have a bike now, so I can travel easily. Just tell me what you want." Cloud said in a serious tone. To most, it could have seemed as if the young man didn't care more than that, although, for Aerith, she knew that he was proposing it out of genuine care for her. Over the years she had learned to read his facial expressions and the slight changes on his face and in his voice. Of course, he was opening himself more and more, but he was still healing from his last confrontation with Sephiroth and the realisation that most memories that he had thought were from him were in fact from Zack. It was hard, to find himself again, and to let go of an illusion that he had thought to be real all along.
"Yeay! Thank you, Cloud." Aerith chuckled. Flowers were her passion, so she never would pass up an opportunity like this. Plus, her little outburst managed to bring a shy smile to the boy's face, so it was a win-win for her. She cared deeply for Cloud and would do anything to help him reconstruct his life. Giving him a bit of work could only help, right? "I've heard that there is a great flower shop in Junon, with lots of different species on sale. I have no preference, so take what you like the most. I'll just give you a list of all the species that I already have here, so you don't go there for nothing."
"Woah, 23? That's... not that bad." Cloud uncertainly remarked. He on the other hand didn't know a lot about flowers, but he tried to learn, at least it made a conversation subject with Aerith. "I can't promise you that I have amazing tastes in flowers, but I guess, I'll choose with my heart, right?" He smiled.
She returned his smile softly, "I am sure you will choose well."
-
"Hmh, never thought that Cloud would be the flowers type." Barret laughed to himself. "But it's good to know that he is recovering well."
"So, he is mentally unstable, if I summaries well?" You asked Aerith.
"Well... He's been through rough times, but for some time he was doing well. He isn't very unstable anymore. Not that I knew of at least..." She answered with a sigh.
As you all walked, you finally arrived outside of Midgar. But the road was still long, and the sun was soon getting down. You all agreed that you needed a car of some sort, or else you would have to walk all night long, having nothing to set camp. So, you settled for doing stop and hoping that someone would be kind enough to take you all in their vehicle, no matter what it could be. The wait was long, and many times you wondered if it wouldn't be better to just continue walking, seeing how few cars were, and how no one seemed to be willing to stop. But eventually, a truck stopped, and a man rolled down his window, telling you all to come aboard. Although at first you found him to be quite the eccentric genre, he proves to be extremely kind. You sat behind with Aerith and Tifa, while Barret was stuck in the front seat, having to listen to the man's incessant blabbering about some video game named Kingdom Hearts.
And that is how you managed to start your trip safely and easily to Junon.
