Prologue: The Titan's Story

In this world, there's a story that many parents tell to their children. This story was told as a way to help the future generation be filled with less hatred. The story shows why one must be cautious before trusting others and that trust can lead to the end of everything you hold dear.

The story that I'm about to tell is one of loss, misunderstandings, trauma, and revenge. Though gloomy, there is some happiness in this story as well. It all started thousands of years ago, with a tale of an ancient fairytale that would be told through the ages. One that would change the world as it is.

Long ago, there was a nation that was ruled by a ruthless and vile mortal. The poor commoners of this land were forced to obey the words and commands of the leader who forced his way through and obliterated their land, taking it by force.  Now they slave away; having no choice. If anyone dared go against him, they'd be severely punished. Many feared him, and what was the best way to gain complete control over such defenseless mortals?

     Fear.

He knew this very well, and that was how he gained control so easily.

He was said to be a man from another nation that had close ties and relations, formed over a mutual alliance, with the current nation of Cloud Juan.

This nation was once known as a righteous one, for it contained many treasures and was seen as loved by the gods for the wealth and prosperity they were granted. Rumors even went as far as to say that this man was a member of the royal family of the nation that was no more.

The nation he was from was a strong and unchallenged one but he soon suffered a great amount of pain and disease.

It was said that he and his family had begged other nations to help them with curing their people of the diseases and droughts that were spreading and taking lives. He was young at the time these disasters were unfolding, so he couldn't do anything about what was going on around him, causing him to feel utterly useless and disposable.

The people of his kingdom fell, and not being able to handle the grief of losing their people as well as failing them miserably, the King and Queen ended up taking their own lives.

The young master soon went mad with anger and grief as a result of losing everything he held so close to his heart.

As a result, he grew angry at the world and started practicing dark demon arts to try and avenge the people and close ones he had lost. The negligence of the so-called "alliances" that were supposed to help when it was needed would be at the mercy of his wrath.

The other kingdoms and nations didn't care if another was falling apart to ruin because they simply believed it had nothing to do with them. This was just how selfish and uncaring humanity's nature was.

As for the dark demonic arts, it is a kind of cultivation that was heavily frowned upon for it consisted of using the ghosts of vengeful spirits that were unable to move on to the afterlife.

This usually occurs when one dies under unprecedented circumstances. The more dreadful the death, the stronger the resentful the spirit would be.

For example, if one were to die from a natural death, yet not have finished one's business that meant a lot to them, they'd naturally harbor some negative emotions, but those kinds of resentful energies are usually the weakest. The strongest resentments harbored from souls who met a tragic end such as being murdered or dying in an inhumane way, whether at the hands of another mortal or even natural disasters.
