"Looks like it's going to rain..." Just as Aiko mumbled this to himself, as he held out the palm of his hand, catching small drops of water as they fell from the sky.
I need to find shelter before it gets too bad... Aiko scanned his surroundings. He couldn't find any shelter nearby, except trees, but even if he took shelter there, he'd still get wet, so it'd be of no use.
He walked around for a while with a hand held above his head, using his hanfu sleeve in an attempt to prevent the rain from getting in his face and possibly blocking his vision.
He began to pick up his pace of walking as the rain began to pick up, desperately trying to find shelter to prevent getting soaked, or even worse–getting sick.
He didn't care even if it was an old abandoned house that was falling apart. He needed something before he got too wet, or it might cause him to catch a cold before he even made it to Oclain.
Surely if that were to happen, The Director wouldn't send him on any more missions anytime soon.
After searching for approximately a quarter to half an incense's worth of time, he finally found a shelter that could properly shield him from the rain!!
He ran towards it, and sure enough, it was a cave he managed to find. It wasn't anything too grand. It was just a small cave that was about 10 feet deep at most.
It was enough for him to take shelter from the rain, so he quickly entered the cave. Sure enough, just as he managed to step foot into it, the rain began to pour relentlessly, even more so than before he entered the cave, causing Aiko to silently praise the gods for letting him find a cave just in time.
It was raining with great force, and the wind blew just as harshly. Aiko was amazed at how fast the rainstorm seemed to escalate.
However, the chill from the cold rain and harsh winds–and his semi-soaked robes, which weren't even thick, to begin with–was beginning to make Aiko feel a bit chilly as the winds from the storm made their way into the cave.
I should have grabbed some wood for a fire. If only I knew it was going to rain...Next time, I have to remember to pay attention to the sky..., Aiko shivered as his body temperature began to drop.
He took off the satchel from where it lay on his shoulders and began to rummage through it, searching for the extra clothes he brought, but just as he was about to pull them out and wrap them around himself, he heard someone call out to him, the sudden, and very loud, voice startled him.
"Hey! You over there in the white and purple robes! Are you cold?"
Aiko turned his attention toward where the voice was coming from.
There was someone there, a figure, about his size and age in appearance, it seemed. They were sitting at the back of the cave, against the wall, next to a small fire being stoked by dry twigs and leaves.
Aiko looked around him, then looked back to the figure, he hesitantly pointed to himself, "Me?"
For a moment, all he thought was, There is no way they're talking to me. Who in their right mind would willingly do such a thing?
The voice chuckled, interrupting his thoughts, "Yeah, who else would I be talking to? There's no one here. I have a fire set up here, so you can join me if you want."
'Are you cold??' Yeah, no shit. My clothes are thin, as well as a bit wet and my lips are probably blue!! Aiko thought, a bit annoyed at the person's lack of observance.
