“Okay,”  You step into the ballroom with Aizawa following closely behind.  You shine your flashlight while talking.  “Plan is to gather as much information from the ghosts tonight.”

Aizawa ruffles your hair and walks ahead of you, his light shining the way.  “You do the talking.  I’ll do the writing.”

You nod your head and follow Aizawa.  As your light shines around the room, your mind begins to wander.  Something looks off.  You stop walking and shine your light on the floor.  You examine the ground for a couple moments.

The red and white tiles shine as your light reflects off them.  Dust covers almost every inch of the floor: The only clean parts being your footprints from the previous day.  The tiles around you are nearly clean, as this is the path to the windows.  Your eyes study a specific tile, which is practically spotless.  Everything is dust free except the upper left corner.

“Yin?”  Aizawa’s voice takes you out of your thoughts.  You look up at him to see his worried face.  “You okay?”

You glance at the floor once more before sighing.  “Yeah.  Let’s see if we can contact anyone in this room.”  You walk to the center of the room and sit on your knees.  You open your bag and turn off your flashlight.  Placing the light in your bag, you remove a glowing board.

“An Ouija board?  Aren’t those fake?”  Aizawa sits next to you, leaning back on his hands.  His flashlight, turned off, lies next to him.

“The ones you can buy at the stores are, but this one was made specifically for this scenario.”  As you set the board down, the room glows a vibrant blue.  “This one works differently, too.  The only thing we have to do is ask questions.  None of that weird hand movement shit.”

“And, the blue light is..?”  Aizawa grabs the backpack and pulls out a notebook and pen.

“It allows us to see who is talking to us.  If someone moves this-”  You hold up the planchette, allowing Aizawa to see.  “We will see a faint glow of their figure.”

Aizawa hums before writing something down.  “I’ll let you take it away, Yin.”

You close your eyes and set down the planchette.  You take a deep breath before speaking, “Marha, erlaube uns bitte noch einmal, dein Brett zu benutzen, um den Fall des verschwundenen Helden zu lösen.”  (Marha, please allow us to use your board once again to solve the missing hero case.)  (I used google translate for most of this since I am still learning German, so sorry if things are spelled wrong!)

Moments pass where nothing happens.  Suddenly, a blue light travels up your body, causing your hair to spike.  A faint moan is heard echoing off the walls before being replaced by a strong wind.  You clutch onto Aizawa’s arm as your eyes scan the room.  The lights begin to gather in areas as the wind’s speed increases.  Two, no…  Four glowing figures stand around the room, all of which are staring straight at you.  You glance around at every figure.  They each resemble a person.  A missing person.  The wind rapidly calms, and the bright figures begin to slowly disappear.

“Were those..?”  Aizawa’s voice breaks the silence.  Hope fills his every word.

“They were.”  Your voice cracks as your eyes stay in the direction of the figures.  You fix your hair and reposition the board.  You close your eyes with a slight smile.  “Danke.  Danke, Marha.”
