It's a long drive back to the house. Not because he's not enjoying his company of course – they spend hours driving each other crazy with their chatter and laughter at every little thing – but he has a feeling it will take some time for them both to fully come to grips with what happened earlier.

"You know you look good in that dress," Amy tells him as they both struggle to get out of the car.

"Thank you." A large, bulky arm reaches in and gets their suitcases out for them.

They both think it's Ben at first, but he's not. It's Simon, another of the guys.

"Glad you could join us for the ride," Simon says.

"How did you two meet?"

Amy smiles. "This was my second date with this guy, remember him? The one who had me go on an adventure?" They had gotten into trouble on their second date. She didn't tell him then why they'd spent all night fighting over a pizza crust. "He invited me out for drinks after work when we got off of work and I thought he was nice."

"Yeah, I remember," Ben tells her with a smirk. He's leaning against the passenger side door. "You said he was really handsome."

She shrugs and gives him a look. "He is. Anyway, we ended up talking and drinking together and we started having fun and well ..." she trails off.

Simon laughs. "We were getting pretty damn handsy, too," he adds.

Ben rolls his eyes and nudges him lightly as they both step away from the car. "You just needed a push, Amy."

There are some things about Simon that don't add up, especially in regards to Amy.

He took her out the very same week she had broken up with Gary. She had talked to her mother about it the day before. But she thought that it was because he was a nice guy. A guy she could be friends with. And she was pretty excited at the prospect of a new date with him.

Now she's beginning to wonder if it was just a way for Simon to get close to her without Gary ever finding out about it.

Maybe he didn't even like her the entire time, just wanted some more action. She tries to keep from thinking about it, but she knows it's only going to lead to bad feelings and worse thoughts about the guy next to her now. If he thinks about it too much he'll begin to blame himself.

The three of them walk through the apartment building towards the elevator bank. Amy takes a deep breath and tries to ignore how heavy the guilt is settling around her shoulders. This isn't the first time she's done something like this. There aren't that many reasons for her to leave people, but none of them involve a good person. That includes Gary.

She pushes those thoughts to the back of her mind as soon as possible, though. She has no intention of ending up back in Gary's arms. Her last encounter with him hadn't exactly turned out well.

A ding! echoes across the lobby as the doors open and they all enter the elevator together. Amy's stomach churns uncomfortably at the memory. As soon as the doors shut though her mind starts racing. How do you fix this? How can she avoid breaking up with someone else?

As the doors slide open again, Amy takes a step outside the elevator and sees a familiar face.

Her jaw drops. Is that Simon? Why is he here?

Before she can say anything he catches sight of her and waves. When she doesn't respond, his smile fades slightly. Instead she just stares at him until he turns and walks away.

Her mouth drops open in shock as the elevator doors close behind him. She turns around to see Ben and Simon both laughing hysterically as they step off of the elevator.
