Finley's POV
Finley sits in the loveseat, wishing it would sallow her whole. To make matters even worse, Blake comes barging in the room, "Um I just saw Savannah practically running out to her car and drive off from my window. Someone care to tell me what happened?"
Emma and Riley go over to sit besides Finley and rub her arms up and down. Cameron turns to Blake, "We got it covered, just-" A light bulb goes off somewhere in Blake's head, he turns to his best friend, who's clearly distraught, "What did she do? You know what, I don't need to know, I'm gunna go over there right now and ring her ear off," he turns to leave but Finley stops him, "Blake just stop. It's my fault, really, I egged her on."
Cameron cut in, "Rivers she may be my best friend, but she called you a bitch, and what you said didn't warrant that." Emma and Riley nod and agree.
Finley nods as if she agrees too but the rest of Cameron's sentence hits her, "'What I said'? ... Where you guys listening to the whole thing?" Finley's voice rises just a little bit, clearly frustrated at the idea of the girls excusing themselves just to eavesdrop.
Cameron, Emma, and Riley all seem to have a sudden interest in the carpet. Blake smacks Cameron's upper arm with his backhand, "You guys didn't invite me?"
Finley scuffs, "Seriously Blake? You're suppose to be on my side." Blake shakes his head, "Right of course!" He then smacks Cameron again, "Not cool guys, I expect it from Cam and Ri, but Emma, really?"
Emma quickly defends herself, "Hey! I thought we were actually going to get a snack. Next thing I know I'm being pulled over to the wall right outside. Then Riley came out of the room and covered my mouth with her hand! By the way, not cool dude!" Emma glares at Riley, "Hey man you're the one who licked my ha—"
Finley cuts in, "Okay okay okay both of you shut it. Just, why did you guys do that?" After a second of silence Cameron speaks up, "Well... you know..." No, I don't, "Know what, Cam?"
Cameron looks to Blake, and Blake sighs, "Drop the act, Rivers. We all know you like Sav."
Finley's face twist into disgust, "Wha- um no. Like hard hard no. Are you guys insane? How the fuck could I like someone who's the she-devil?"
Emma, Riley, Cameron, and Blake all shout in unison, "Hey!" Cameron continues, "She might have been wrong a few minutes ago but she's my best friend and definitely doesn't deserve the title of 'she-devil'" Ugh, that's fair, "Okay, you're right. I'm sorry."
"Eh don't worry about it, I've called her much worse... to her face, of course," Blake states rather matter-of-fact-ly. He looks up to the ceiling as if he's thinking about something, "In fact, there was this one time before I got to actually know her and thought she was just using Cam for our money... I called her a gold di- OWW" Cameron stomps her foot down on Blake's. "Okay, not the best time for strolling down memory lane, big brother."
Riley speaks up, "Yeah we actually have to start getting dressed and packed up." Finley looks down at her watch, "Oh shit yeah. Just for the record, I won't forget this," she points her finger at Emma, Cameron, and Riley, "Also, I do N. O. T. not like Quincy!"
Riley scrunches her face, "Well technically that was a double negative. So you do like Sav?" Emma grins and high-fives Riley.
"Ugghhhhh NO, I'm going to Blake's room to get my stuff!" Finley rushes out before anyone can say something else.
Blake looks over to the three girls left in the room, "Really guys... just leave the room and hope they start making out?"
Cameron speaks up, "No... more like leave them alone and they'd... well yeah," Cameron throws her hands up and frowns.
Riley's turn, "Okay okay it wasn't completely fool-proof but at least now we know what we're working with."
Emma adds in, "And what is that? Two girls who can't even be in the same room without yelling at each other?"
Riley shakes her head, "Yes but you saw how Sav didn't say anything mean—well anything at all really—when we were all working on calc together. That means as long as we supervise, there's a chance we can get them communicating to one another without the hostility."
Blake nods in agreement, "I see where you're going Ri! We just need to keep hanging out all together, maybe prompt some convo, then they'll be more comfortable around each other! And finally, leave them alone in a more subtle way than today and boom, bang, pow... they'll be in love!"
Cameron stifles a laugh, "You guys are definitely on to something." Emma cuts in, "Guys I'd love to keep planning how we are going to get our friends to fall for each other but we really do have to start getting ready for camp!"
"Right right, okay we'll do something this weekend to get our plan in motion. For right now though let's head up to my room. Love ya, big brother," Cameron pats Blake's back as she turns and exits the room. Emma and Riley pack up their school work and follow Cameron while saying bye to Blake. As the girls walk upstairs, Blake yells from the living room, "Good luck guys!"
