Shall I not tell you about the first of mankind?
Created upon his image, no defect to find
The one who was blessed to be created with the Lord's own hands
His body was vast, spreading across the landShall I not tell you how his wife came to be?
When he awoke from his sleep to find the first and most beautiful woman to ever be seen
She was created from his rib and the two dwelled for a time in paradise
Then the wretched one whispered to them and caused great loss and sacrificeThe wretched one said, 'God has instructed you not to eat of the fruit of that tree'
'But if you indulge in it, then surely you will live forever just like He'
'And you will not find me from among the liars'
'Indeed I am of the most sincere of advisers'And so the devil beguiled the mother and father of the human race
They ate the fruit and gained naught, but the loss of their heavenly place
Their clothes were stripped from them, a humiliating punishment
Then they were cast onto the dunya, a destined placementThey were then taught blessed words, in order to seek forgiveness from their Lord
And lived on Earth, their return to paradise was all but assured
