* The Next Day *
My uncle brought us to the station. He bid goodbye to his sister (my mom) and bid goodbye to me as well.
"Come back soon ok? I'm so glad you visited me. Hopefully the next time you visit bring our other sister ok?". He said to mom.
"Josh, thanks for spending your summer here. I'm glad you stayed here for a while. Come back soon. Be nice ok and stay handsome". He said as he rubbed my hair with his hand.
We bid farewell and rode another van goin back home. The travel back was as tiring as the travel going there. When we got home, it was already getting late and I was too tired to check on Riley. So I decided to take a quick nap which turned to a really long nap.
I woke up the next day. I was still a bit tired and the house felt different, probably because I got used to my uncle's house. I felt a hinge of nostalgia as I sat on our couch. Everything was the same, but it felt as if everything changed. Then I realized that summer was almost over. I only had a few weeks left before school starts again. Riley and I didn't do much on our bucket-list. After realizing that, I had breakfast and went to her house. Surprisingly, she was already awake and greeted me.
"Where were you? You took really long. Come inside Josh". She said smilingly.
"So how's it going since I was gone?". I asked as I entered.
"Pretty good. I played with neighbors while you were gone". She replied.
"That's great. Guess you weren't lonely after all". I said.
"Not really, but it's fine. At least you're back now". She said.
"So, what now? Video games?". I asked happily.
"No thanks, I'll pass. We and my new girl friends have ballet practice in a while. It's gonna last for a whole day". She said.
"Ballet? Since when did you do girly stuff?" I retorted in a sarcastic manner.
"Since you went on your trip." She said.
"Oh okay. Guess I'll be goin then cuz you're gonna prepare and all". I said disappointingly but I tried not to make it sound too obvious.
"Yeah Josh. But it was nice seeing you again.". She smiled as I left.
