* Saturday morning *
Today's finally the day that I'm goin to spend some quality time with her. And today is also the big day that I'm gonna tell her that I love her!
I woke up really early just for this day. For guy to wake up on a Saturday morning is already surprising enough. But it didn't matter to me, seeing her would definitely suffice me.
I prepared myself and took breakfast pretty quick and said to mom: "Mom, I'm off to Riley's"
"Riley's? Wow it's been a while. Tell her I said hi ok?" Mom said.
"Sure thing mom. Be back soon. Wont stay long" I said as I bolted out of the house.
I felt hesitant at first. It's been months since I actually been to their house. But I swallowed my pride and took a deep breath. I guess it's now or never. I've been contemplating my whole walk to their house. All sorts of flashbacks came into my head. All the happy moments I spent with her all came back to me. It made me realize how I missed her so much and how big of a jerk I am for even leaving her in the first place. I remembered how I use to spend almost every single day of the week with her.
Finally, I'm standing at the front of their house. I jut had to do this. There's no better time than now.
"Riley, you there?". I said as I knocked on their gate.
"Yeah, come in". She said from inside.
Their dogs didn't bother barking at me since they already knew me. I'm still surprised since its been months since their dogs last saw me, yet they still recognize me. So I went inside and looked for her.
She called my attention from inside her room. I saw her lying on her bed playing with her DS. I was a bit curious so lied beside her.
"Watcha playing there?". I asked.
"Pokemon, just checking out the latest stuff". She replied monotonously.
"So what's our plan for this day. Are the other people coming?". I asked eagerly.
"I dunno. I told them that I'm busy today". She retorted.
"Oh ok, so where's gramma?". I asked again, it's been a while since I last saw her.
"She left to buy groceries. So it's practically just you and me today". She started to sound alive.
"It's getting hot, let's move to her room". She said as she got up and gestured to me to follow.
Back when we were young, we always stayed in gramma's room. It's the master's bedroom. She has everything we need there. Air-conditioning, cable tv and etc. So, now I'm a bit excited to see her room again. As Riley opened the room, I noticed that nothing much has changed. Although, the table where Riley's stuff use to pile up is now gramma's desk filled with her books. The desktop sitting in the corner is now the latest model that Riley uses to talk with her dad.
"Wow, it's been a while since" I said surprisingly as I looked around the room.
"Yeah, guess so. Nothing new much, just a couple of stuff." She replied.
"I actually have something to tell you". We both said at the same time and we giggled as it happened.
"You first, you know I follow the Ladies first principle". I said as the gentleman I am.
"Okay then good sir." She replied sarcastically. "I've been wanting to tell you this since you came back here. But I just couldn't find the right time to tell it." She said nervously as her cheeks began to turn red.
I thought at that moment that maybe, just maybe that she likes me too. I was hoping for the best.
"So I wanted to tell you that I..." Then she suddenly became quite.
"I have a boyfriend."
