Hey, the name's Joshua and this is the story how me and my bestfriend drifted apart.

Bestfriend. This refers to a special person that you hangout with most of the time and you enjoy each others company. You accept each other's differences and deal with it. Having a bestfriend was like having a twin. For me, Riley was that twin. She was my bestfriend. Although, I'm a year older than Her. But we still clicked. I'm the only child in my family and so is Riley. We got along pretty well. We liked the same things and we consider each other as 2 peas in a pod. We're like twins, always together. But something changed between us.

It all started the first time I saw her in kindergarten. She was a playful girl that ran around the playground talking to all the children. I was new there so I just sat at the swing all by myself while all the other kids were playing at the monkey bars and slid down the slides.

Then she saw me. She walked towards me and asked "Watcha doin? Wanna play?". From that moment on, we have been inseparable. We played at the playground almost everyday. We started going to each other's house and hang out. But after all those years of being together, we started..... drifting apart.

It goes way back in the winter of 2008. I had just finished my second year in Highschool. Riley and I had already planned out our entire summer before I reach Junior year. We decided to play games like we always do. Playing was such a necessity for us back then. We were fond of playing almost anything. We play a lot of Pokemon, Yu-gi-oh and other card games (She's a bit boyish actually). Then we'd play video games in her room. For a girl, she had a guy-themed room. She's not a fan of pink or purple. We use to play racing games with her PS2. We also played a lot of video games with my DS, PSP, Game Boy, Xbox and etc. They're kinda rich and since he's the only, she gets a lot of stuff which she shares with me. Occasionally we'd give art a chance and draw a lot for an entire day. I wasn't much of an artist but it was fine, we still had fun doing so. We attempted to draw Pokemon cards and color them. Most of the time we just watched a lot of tv. We watch shows ranging from cartoons to movies. We would watch tv for an entire day while doing our other stuff.

After playing all the video games and watchin tv, we'd go out to the park and play some sports. The only sport that Riley and I played together was Badminton. At certain times, we'd play some volleyball too. However, she's not much of a player since she'd get tired easily when it comes to volleyball. So I would go easy on her but I'd still win. We always do sports together around 5 in the afternoon. We'd call our neighbors so we have more players. It wouldn't be as much fun if there were only two of us. We took turns with playing badminton.

I was at home whenever I was in her house. We use to make snacks together like our favorite toasts with cheese and topped with grated cheese. We'd have sleepovers at her house despite the fact that we only do it in broad daylight. If her gramma goes shopping, she takes us with her and let us go malling by ourselves. One time, her gramma took us to a swimming get away but of course we also invited few of our neighbors. It was like that the previous summer and every day wasn't dull and boring, we always found ways to make each day an awesome one. But this summer, everything changed.
