Beep!

Morning, I wake up feeling satisfied and relaxed, like the heaviest burden had been lifted from my shoulders. The feeling is so liberating that I just lay there for a moment, it feels like time is almost paused. A sleeping Tony is right beside me, snoring happily without a care in the world.

I wake him up by tussling his soft, coarse hair, to which he grins. We don't have any plans for today so I ask if he's hungry. To which he grins and shakes his head. He's laying next to me so I wrap my arm around his slim shoulders. He leans in and I already know what he wants to watch, so I put it on the tv.

"Oh hey, I just remembered, our wedding date is coming up over soon, April 28th!"I say, excited. I've already taught him how to say his 'I do" In sign language.

He smiles and continues watching the movie. Just this once I ask our maid to make us some food, I can hear his stomach growl and he needs to eat as many calories as possible. The doctor says he should get his voice back within the week, it's already somewhat coming back, even if it's raspy.

"Hey babe, I have an idea." He perks up, giving me a questioning look.

"Want to visit the healthy gang at the soup kitchen? They told me they volunteer there and we haven't seen the two in a while."

"S-Sure," he says, getting out of bed. I hand him some clothes and turn around. We aren't that far into the relationship yet and it seems like he wouldn't care, but I still want to respect his privacy.

It's April so its kinda hot. I put him in shorts and a normal T-shirt. He seemed okay with the outfit choice. I also hand him a ball cap to keep the sun out of his eyes, I just put in my hair of sunglasses.

We bought him a wheelchair so I wouldn't have to carry him around anymore, it's more convenient for everyone. Plus now that he's gaining more weight and getting healthier I think it's getting harder to carry him.

I push his wheelchair down the road and walk him down to our local soup kitchen for the homeless. It was kinda awkward I admit when we told the volunteers that we were just there to say hi to some friends.

They let us in the back where I'm shocked by how many pots there are. I didn't know that many people were having to be fed here. My sympathy turns to happiness as I see Spinie and Steve, adding more chicken to a steaming pot of what I assume is the classic chicken noodle soup. I take a whiff and it smells like home.

"It smells really good in here," I say, making their heads turn.

"Oh hey Tony, hey Colin? Did you see us in the crowd last nig-"

Before Steve can continue I put my arms in an x motion, signaling what I want to say, Tony doesn't need to hear what happened last night.

"Oh no, I wasn't at that concert last night you must've seen someone else that looked like me." He notices my lie since he was there and since I'm behind Tony and he can't see my head I nod in answer to his question.

He nods in return and continues the current conversation.

"So Tony how are you healing?" he asks, Tony gives him a thumbs up and I pick up where he left off.

"His therapists and doctors are very nice to me and him. And we've made a ton of progress. Also, have you gotten the invitation to our wedding in the mail?"

"Yeah we're really excited to go, we've already called the day off volunteering to go!" Spinie speaks up, smiling as they stirr the carrots she put into the soup. I take a minute to notice their aprons, they're covered in stains and their hands have a bunch of bruises and scars which I assume is from burning them on that hot soup pot, or from the steam coming out of said pot.

"Okay we just wanted to say hello but now we have to go." I say, chuckling at my rhyme.

We wave goodbye and start walking home. Once we get there, my father shrignold starts getting super excited.

"WEDDING PREPERATIONS!!!!!" he yells in excitement the second we get into the dorm.

"Dad, the wedding is in a couple weeks it's too early to be yelling about it, plus I think it's time for bed." I yawn, looking at the darkened, stary sky outside the large windows of the castle. I roll Tony's chair into out bedroom and plop him onto the bed.

I go to bed feeling fulfilled. How did I get to such a wonderful life?
