I wake up. I rub my eyes. There's no more screaming. It's late at night. I get out of bed. My throat feels dry like a dessert. I walk down the stairs quietly. He's still in the house. I can feel his shadow around me. It's chocking me.

I take a glass and fill it up with water. I drink it. I hear rustling outside. I look and see a brown shape looking at me. I jump and drop the glass. Uh-oh. I see it move. I open the door. What was that? I have to know. Stupidly, I chase after it.

I run through the trees and the leaves. I trip. I stumble. I tumble down a hill and into a shallow creak.

"Are you alright master?" My shadow said helping me up.

I brush myself off. I feel a scar on my elbow. A light, dripping red scar. I turn. I see it. A brown tall four-legged animal. It had wide antlers like tree branches. It was a deer, a beautiful deer. I walk toward it. I was memorized by it. It was so beautiful in the stary night. The deer looked at me.

It did not run away. It looked at me. I reach my hand up to its nose. It leans forward and touches my hand. Its nose felt wet but in a good way. I rub my hand on its nose and face. It didn't run from me. I smile at it. It then hears something and runs deeper into the forest.

"We should probably be getting home master." He said.

"Yeah, you're right." I breathe.

I walked up the hill before taking a look back at the deer. I waved to it. It nodded.
