TW: mental illness, demonic possession, self destructive behavior

This had to be the worst exorcism the Warrens had ever been a part of. They had gotten a call two days prior about a man named Maurice in Quebec who was possessed and that the Church needed their help. They had dropped everything and drove to Canada to help the poor man and his family. But things got worse, he turned violent and attempted to kill his wife. With no other option, the Warrens called in a local priest to perform the exorcism.

Maurice was currently tied to a chair in his basement while Ed and Lorraine assisted by holding him down. The priest stood in front of them, holding a Bible and crucifix and speaking Latin. Maurice's wife stood in the corner, horrified as her husband thrashed around. Drew stood with a camera filming the events. Maurice's eyes had turned white and he was crying blood, which Lorraine hurriedly wiped away. He began foaming at his mouth and screaming. His body was clammy and very pale. At that moment an upside down cross began to appear on his abdomen, which made him scream even more.

The next sequence of events all happened in a blur for Lorraine. Maurice broke free of his restraints and Ed's grasp as he tackled Lorraine to the floor and grabbed her wrists so hard it would surely leave a bruise. Lorraine thought she could hear Ed yell her name but the world around her quickly melted away as she was sucked into a vision.

She was in a basement and a mirror stood in front of her. Some mental tug told her to walk towards it, and as she did a figure appeared behind her in the reflection that made Lorraine's blood freeze. It was tall and had a pale face but it's eyes where sunken and black. It's mouth was what scared her the most though, rows of razor sharp teeth dripping with blood and flesh. It had a long crooked nose that protruded cruelly from its face. It wore a nuns habit but felt and looked anything but holy.

Lorraine finally mustered up enough courage to look behind her shoulder but found the creature was not their. When she looked back at the mirror, it was still behind her but had moved closer. She looked back again, but still the demon was not their. This time when she turned back the creature stood right in front of her and grabbed Lorraine's throat before she even had time to react. Lorraine tried to scream and thrash around but the creature just smiled at her, tightening it's grip

And just like that the demon was gone. Lorraine looked around confused as she tried to catch her breath. But suddenly a stack of furniture fell down beside her to reveal Ed. Happiness surged through her as she thought she might be coming out of her vision but she soon realized something wasn't right. He looks terrified, like he was running away from something. Then the wall behind him burst open as a huge tree branch came through and stabbed him through the chest. He screamed in agony as blood splattered everywhere, covering him in a deep shade of red. Then he went still and his eyes glazed over as he died.
