I ran from the medical centre, Sliding on the dirt path running into a grass area with 9 metre tall trees. I came to a stop. I bent down. "Sea shells, Crap." I walked out of the area. I sprint walked to the Spectrum, A kilometre walk. While walking I grabbed my radio, Raising it to my mouth. The light turned green and a beep played. "All personnel to Spectrum ASAP" I approached the Spectrum as I ran up the stairs. I walked towards the canteen, Ring one. I started climbing up. The echo of my steps ripped through the metal tube. The ladder groaned. I slid into the canteen, The others staring at me. The lights dimmed as a projector lowered. "Water levels outside of the crater have been rising. Estimated 1.5 kilometres. The water will breach the crater wall in 2.5 hours. The water will destroy everything in here." I said, Looking at everyone else. "How would we get the Spectrum out?" Eliza said. "Come." I walked out, Sliding down the ladder exiting the Spectrum. The other 4 looked at the external of the Spectrum. "What?" Muhammed said. "Buoy's, There's 10 compartments with buoys on every side." The sound of water flowing around the crater echoed throughout it. "We're drilling a hole out of here, There's thousands of creatures in here." I picked up a backpack full of drilling equipment. I threw it up with Lake.
We arrived at the Crater wall. I opened the backpack taking out drills and explosives. "Here." I tossed a drill to Everyone. I heard water flowing. I heard crashing behind me. Small tiny waves had started to spill over the edge of the crater. "We gotta go!" I swiped my finger on a pad with 12 bars with a gradient from red to green. "Maximum power" A speaker on it said. I placed the drill on the stone. The drill fired up and started drilling out the stone. The noise made my ears hurt. The stone shot out from the crater wall as it got thinner and thinner. Our drills penetrated into the other side. I turned around. The water was almost about to rocket over the side. There were thousands of land walking animals lined up behind us. There was a metre of water flowing in front, Most of it trapped behind the crater. We finished drilling a big enough hole. "Go! Go! Go!" I shouted. The Eee'kik's and the alien deer and other animals filed out into the streaming water, Carried away relatively safely. "You guys keep filing out, We gotta go!" Muhammed said as we dropped the drills back into our 3 backpacks. "Go!" I yelled as I swooped the backpack up and ran.
We arrived at the Spectrum, a blasting wind from the water smashing into us, At Least 70 kilometres an hour. We ran up the stairs into the Spectrum. The stairs rolled away. I grabbed the latch of the door and pulled the door in. I heard the water rocketing over the side as I did. The door closed and sealed as I hurried into the bridge. I sat in my cold fabric chair as the lights throughout the Spectrum started up. The star light was blocked out by a massive cloud, Kilometres each way. The clouds started to pour rain down on us. I flipped 3 switches above as machinery was heard whirring. I heard the buoys inflating on each side. I felt the Spectrum jolt as the first small wave hit the wheels. "Those buoys out?" Eliza said. "Yep" The water levels started to rapidly rise. "Attempting engine ignition." I flipped a switch labelled "ENG IGNITION 1." I heard the elements venting but no engine igniting. "They're dead!" Another wave of water hit that rose above the buoys. The Spectrum started to float. The Spectrum spun relatively slowly clockwise. "Attempting ignition again!" I flipped it back and then back again. I heard it sputter, Nearly igniting. The water level rose rapidly. It was already 200 metres high. I saw the massive kilometre trees tumble, Collapsing into the water.
The water level reached the top, The Spectrum slowly moving to the edge. "Prepare for drop!" The front hit the top of the crater as it started to tip over. "Aaaaaaand, Blow!" The engines vented as they ignited, The 4 nuclear engines spewing a kilometre long stream. "Pull up, Pull up, Pull up!" The Spectrum pulled up and glided a couple metres from the water as it pitched more up. The Spectrum gained altitude, The power on the engines increased, The sky became darker and darker. "Engine cutoff." The engines cut as the Spectrum glided in space, Hitting escape velocity. The Spectrum rotated towards the planet. Stopping once facing there. "Holy." Most of the planet was engulfed in a massive wave, And the poles were very small. "It's poles melted, This planet most likely has an elliptical orbit. It will freeze again soon and melt again after." Anything that wasn't covered by complete water was a desolate desert.
