Chapter 2. The Brothers

The next morning I decided to tour around the town a little more. I mean, I live here now so I might as well. I went to the bathroom to freshen up and get rid of the scent of blood and dirt off my body. Don't want to make a bad first impression. I went downstairs to the kitchen to make myself some breakfast. I decided to cook some scrambled eggs and bacon since that was the only thing I bought from the market last night. I eat human food to keep me from craving blood. It doesn't always work, but it helps a little. After, breakfast, I decided to wear a black V neck, a pair of skinny jeans, and a pair of my black and white converse. Not really the usual thing I like to wear, but I have to fit in with these humans somehow.

I walked out the house and saw that the weather outside was absolutely beautiful. The sun is out and the wind is blowing in the trees. It should be a peaceful day today. I walked down a street which led me to the center of the town where everybody seems to be up doing some shopping. I figured since today was Sunday, everyone would be up early today. So many people around me and I can slowly feel my hunger growing. My eyes changing from dark honey hazel, to blood red. My eyes only turn red when my hunger grows or when I'm angry. I can feel myself wanting to feed on every human I see. I can already taste the blood on my tongue as I tried to refuse the temptation. I shut my eyes closed and fought off the urge to feed for I didn't want to cause a scene. I fought off my hunger, but just to be sure I decided to get a cup of coffee, to curve the cravings. I usually drink alcohol, especially bourbon because it's a lot stronger and would be able to hold off the cravings longer. But it's morning, and I wouldn't be blending in very well if people saw a teenager drinking bourbon early in the morning.

I walked into a coffee shop called Krystic Cafe. The line was very short, which I liked. I'm a very impatient person. Finally it was my turn to order, and I decided to make my coffee extra strong. As I looked at the menu, I saw a cheeky blonde with a name tag that said Charline on it come up to the register.

She gave me a big grin and said, " Hi Welcome to Krystic Cafe! What can I get for you?" She irritated me a bit with her cheeky grin and high pitched voice. But I tried to not let that bother me so much before I get tempted to rip her head off. '' Ummmm... Can I get a coffee with triple espresso shots please? No milk. No Sugar. '' I asked. '' Wow! You must really like your coffee strong! '' she giggled. '' Sure. You can say that. '' I answered. As I payed her, she began to smile at me again and ask me questions, as if I was being interviewed. '' I haven't seen you around here before. Are you new here? '' she asked. ''Well I used to live here a couple years ago. Then I went out of town and then decided to come back. '' I explained '' Nice! How long have you lived here? '' she asked. '' Awhile.'' I answered. '' Well that's good that you decided to come back. Krystic Mountain may be a small town, but it sure is a great one.'' Alright. This blonde was irritating the crap out of me. '' Can I just have my coffee please? '' I demanded '' Alright! Here's your coffee ma'am! Come again soon and have a nice day! '' Damn. And I thought I'd never be able to leave. As I left the coffee shop, I decided to take a walk in the park. Clear my mind and just relax a little bit.

When I finally arrived to the park, I saw that there were more people here than I expected. Normally, if I wasn't able to control my hunger a little better than before and get myself used to animal blood, I would completely lose my mind and feed on everyone here. But I didn't want to be that person that I used to be anymore. I've killed so many innocent people in my life and regretted every single feed. I couldn't control myself. My hunger and anger took complete control over me. I decided to walk around for a little while to clear my head and not think about my past.

As I walked, I can see people stare at me as if I was some kind of outcast. Especially the mothers that sit on the bench while their kids are playing in the playground. Even the joggers that jogged passed by me would  turn their heads to look at me. But as long as they don't approach me, everything should be alright. But just so I don't get irritated by the disgusted glares that I'm getting, I found a nice, comfy spot on the grass where I can just lay down and relax. At least there, they can stare all they want but I don't have to look at them. As I laid down on the grass, all my senses heightened up. I can hear everything around me more clearly and I was able to smell everything and recognize the scent. My mind is clear and I finally feel at peace. I haven't been this relaxed in such a long time. I could literally lay here forever if I wanted to.
