I hear a bloody scream, which caused me to wake up from my slumber. I sitting in a dark room, where I couldn't see anything at all. It was pouring and thundering outside, lightning striking a tower. I get up from the ground, I track a brick wall with a left hand till I meet a door. I suddenly hear a window shattering, I open the door in a swift and get out of the mysterious room. I hear a gasp and more screams from a neighbouring chamber. I enter. I pull my hand to my mouth to prevent me from screaming. It was my mother's lifeless body with younger me yelling and crying. My heart skipped a beat when I appeared in a complete different room.
A soldier stabbed Edmund, he fell to the ground, helpless. I impaled the soldier, he fell to the ground. I placed Ed's head on my lap carefully, trying to avoid doing more damage.
"Get out of here." He warned. "Take care of yourself. I can only hope I'll see you again." He whispered. He struggled to get an intake of breath and relaxed in my arms. I cried and shrieked over his lifeless body.
Suddenly i was in the castle courtyard, sword drawn. All of Miraz's men were charging me, but i slayed every last one of them. When Miraz saw I'd killed his entire army, he tried to run, but i appeared in front of him, and killed him. It had begun to rain. The blood from the bodies and the blood running off my sword mixed with the rain water. Thunder sounded above as i observed what i had done.
I sat up quickly, drenched in sweat and tears. I placed a hand to my head and i shook in terror. I stood and quickly ran to the room I'd been in earlier, hoping to get my mind off the nightmare. I didn't see Peter there until i came around to the front. I halted my movements, hoping he didn't see me. I began taking quiet steps backward, but Peter turned to me. He observed my pale, tear-stained face and his eyes widened. He stood quickly, approaching me.
"Are you alright?" He asked, worried.
"Yeah. I-I'm fine." I lied.
"Are you sure?"
I looked up into his blue eyes and caved. I collapsed on the ground, and Peter crouched down quickly. He placed a hand on my back.
"Diana, what's wrong?" He asked, concerned. I couldn't speak, because i was sobbing. He scooped me up and leaned back against the front of the stone table, placing me in his lap. He rocked me back and forth until i composed yourself.
"What's wrong?" He asked softly. I took multiple deep breathes.
"I had a nightmare." I confessed. "I-I saw my mother's dead body and me crying over it, then a-a soldier stabbed Edmund, he died in in front of me and I killed the soldier. After that, I was in the courtyard, and killed all of Miraz's men. Then I murdered Miraz!"
I took another breath.
"I could see all of their lifeless bodies Laying there. Because of me." I looked back up at him, seeing what he thought, before looking back at the ground.
"I told Edmund this, but I use a bow and arrow more often because I can't see the faces of who I kill. I can't see their dead faces because of the incident with my mother" I hyperventilated for a few breathes.
"There was this soldier who was charging at me and Edmund, so I killed him. I could see his lifeless body.
I let out a shaky breath.
"I can still see his face. It haunts me. I know swords are easier, but I can't take it." I confessed. I both sat in silence for several minutes. Peter wasn't sure what to say, so he said nothing.
"I can't sleep. Every time I close my eyes I see his face. The man I killed. The friends we lost. The friends we could have lost." I eyes began to water again. Peter shushed me.
"It gets easier over time." He comforted. "I promise." He said, looking up at the carving of Aslan. I looked up at him.
"I know you and Caspian have your differences, but thank you for saving him. I don't know what I'd do if-" you paused. "We grew up together. My mother died when I was little and my father didn't care for me at all during his time alive so his dad basically cared for me my whole life. Then I find out Miraz killed our.......his father. How is he supposed to live with that?" I asked quietly. "He has so much pressure on his shoulders." I muttered. We both sat in silence for a few minutes.
"I'm sure he'll figure it out." Peter assured. Getting no response, he looked down at me. My eyes were closed and my breathing had evened out. Peter heard more footsteps from his right, and turned, seeing Lucy. Lucy looked at me in his arms and raised an eyebrow.
"It's not what you think." He told her. "In fact, it's a bit of a long story." He said, looking down at me.
"I'm sure it is." She said, sitting next to him. They sat in silence, looking up at the carving of Aslan.
"You're lucky, you know." Peter told her quietly.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"To have seen him." He clarified. "I wish he'd just given me some sort of proof."
"Maybe we're the ones who need to prove ourselves to him." She advised. They sat there in silence, until they heard footsteps from their left. Edmund walked in and stopped, seeing Lucy and me in Peter's lap. He had a jealous face. Why would he have a jealous face? He stared at his brother as his jaw clenched.
"I didn't know this was a common meeting place."
Peter rolled his eyes. "Look, Ed, it's not-"
"I'm not here for that, we'll talk later. You'd better come quickly."
Peter slowly stood, and carried me out, following Edmund outside. I stirred and awoke because of the sudden chill. I looked ahead and saw Caspian giving me a strange look. My gaze traveled up and saw Peter carrying me bridal style. My face burned red of embarrassment and l scrambled out of his arms, quietly thanking him. He smirked softly at me, and looked ahead. Edmund's face became slightly hard, and he looked ahead as well. I grabbed Caspian's hand for support and comfort. As i looked out ahead, a huge army was traveling to Aslan's How, which i stood atop. The army had horses wheeling in giant catapults.
Edmund, Peter, me, Caspian, Lucy, Susan, Trumpkin, and Doctor Cornelius all stood on the edge of the How in terror. King Miraz rode forward on his white horse. He wore gold armor and stopped in front of the group.
We anxiously awaited his next move.
