Summer Keaton.

"I'm sorry to interrupt you, Winona, but my boss is calling me," I say apologetically, silently cursing the universe for this terrible timing.

"I understand. Duty calls," she replies stoically.

"I'll be back," I say, standing from the table. She nods, excusing me to go to one of the washrooms in the small cafe. I take a deep breath before answering to Laura, preparing myself for a shower of anger to rush down upon.

"Keaton! Where the hell are you?" Laura yells, her voice of anger and annoyance. This was perhaps the first time I'd ever been intimidated by her— her voice was so furious I was afraid she'd kill me for not having her caffeine fix.

"Listen, I'm still at Renato's—"

"You're still at Renato's?" She shouts, nearly causing my eardrum to pop. "Priscilla is annoyed and I'm starving and I swear if that coffee isn't piping hot and made from milk of the Virgin Mary herself you will not want to see me today."

"Laura, I have a good reason to be here right now. This story is worth so much more than a four dollar coffee," I begin to ramble, trying to easel my way out of a hostile situation.

I can hear Laura take a deep breath before calming down. I hear heels click before Laura asks me, "Summer Keaton. Why are you still at Renato's?"

"Winona Rosario is at Renato's right now. She is telling me the story. And once she's done telling it, I am going to break it to the entire world. I've found my Simmons-Fairchild." I simply hang up. I couldn't risk losing anymore time explaining myself.

When I return to the table, Winona is gone. It was if she was never there to begin with. I was starting to question if the last hour was even real. When I approach the table, the three drinks and pastries still on top, I notice a noted tucked underneath the cup.

Paparazzi caught me. But if you wish to hear my story, find me at PJY Mart. Ask for Ivy.

"Usually, Keaton, I would be very upset that my coffee was not here in a timely manner. However I can excuse that given the circumstances," Priscilla lectures, walking back and forth behind her desk. "So, tell me, what have you uncovered?"

"W-well she was just getting to the good part before Laura called," I stutter. Her mere power alone intimidated me. "She talked about the moments leading up to it... their youth together and her career and all."

"Anything new that the public doesn't know?"

"Well, it's more confirmation than anything right now... like the claim that they were seeing each other on-and-off through the years isn't real. She's barely reached the tip of the iceberg."

"Why didn't you get to the affair? You had all the precursors but not the main story?"

"She left. She was spotted. She's a private person these days."

Priscilla nods her head. She thinks deeply before sitting down to stare at me.  "Keaton. I don't want to get too excited for things like this, but I'm giving you paid time off to work on this story. In other words, do whatever you can to finish this story."

I nod, a small smile forming on my face. I feel victorious and I can only dream of the success to follow.
