Summer Keaton.

Tears form on her eyes as she spits out those last words. She nearly chokes on her own words as she takes a few breaths in and out. She takes a long sip of her lemon water before saying, "I think that's enough for the day."

"I understand," I nod, packing my things up.

"I'm sorry," she wipes the few tears that are flowing. "I just... never thought I'd say it aloud. I've lived it, I don't regret it, but when I sit down and think about it... I feel awful."

I stop packing and look at the woman in front of her. I was envious of how beautiful she looked even when she cried. I realize that maybe that was why he wanted to keep her so badly. Winona was the kind of beauty that you wanted to keep and hold in your palms. She was brilliant, bright, and glowing. And just like bright, brilliant things, some people want to keep them, to lock them up. They want to display that pretty little thing, but never let it free.

I struggle finding the words to say. I'd always thought she was some kind of stone-cold bitch who helped a man cheat on his fiancée. But knowing the intent behind the actions made me... sympathetic. "As you said at Renato's, he was just as bad as you. It takes two to cheat."

"I suppose you're right."

A silence falls between us. I take it as my cue to leave. "When should be continue this conversation?"

"Stop by any time tomorrow. Ask for Ivy," she says. I leave her apartment and walk into my car, immediately taking out my notebook with all my scribbled work.

SHE'S IN LOVE WITH HIM. HEAD OVER HEELS. SHE'S STILL IN LOVE WITH HIM.

AND FOR HIM ..? SEEMS LIKE A GAME.

I read my notes, calculating how I'd write about it for the breakthrough.

I win, Laura Kepner. I win.

I've never walked through the halls of the office with such confidence before. The funny thing is that no one quite knew what I had up my sleeve.

But like clockwork, Laura comes up to me to rain on my parade. She comes to me with a smirk. "Priscilla said she wants you to continue with WAG updates, specifically anything Jordan Poole related."

God, I cannot wait to publish that story and wipe that smirk off her face.

"Unfortunately, I can't. I have to finish my story on the affair," I tell her, grabbing my laptop charger from my desk. "I just came to get this."

"The Song/Simmons affair is exhausted. It's done for. It's settled," she lists every synonym there is. I roll my eyes at her stupidity. "We don't need another story for that when we can just look on Maevis Song's instagram."

"The Ball/Morrison affair," I correct. "I also came here to tell Priscilla. She'll be thrilled." I don't let Laura get in another word. I walk away to Priscilla's office, who immediately lights up when she hears the news.

Priscilla hurries me to go to Winona's. If I could, I would sped way over the limit. I think of all the numbers, the shares, and the views on this article. To think I wanted that Song-Simmons story so badly...
