HE KNEW THE WAY BY HEART, he could reach Kew'Itan favorite place blind. It had taken days of failure— that Kew always laughed at with great amusement— for him to not loose himself in the maze of interwoven caves.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Kew had been sent beyond the reef with his father, and although they left together when they came the boy was nowhere to be seen. Tonowari had graciously eased his mind and simply told him that Kew wanted sometime alone, Neteyam guessed it had something to do with Lo'ak going beyond the reef.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎So Neteyam went back to his family and let the night pass.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎When the early morning came he woke and called an Ilu, feeding her a fish as an apology.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎His eyes immediately fell on the body laid on the white sand, Kew was curled on himself in a ball like he always slept when he wasn't on the nets of his family's marui.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎He snorted at the sight of the hairpin the boy possessively obsessed over slipping from it's hold over the mass of curly hair that always became unruly while Kew slept.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎His hair was always soft, perfect shiny curls along with the few braids that were always there, he had asked Tsireya for an explanation once. When he was younger Kew always kept his hair in braids as it was too annoying to manage, it had become so much of a signature look for him that Tsireya had mirrored it. Kew still kept those few as a way to still match with his little sister.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Neteyam found it incredibly sweet.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎He figured, in the months that they had known each other, Kew loved his sleep. He was glad for it too since he never shied away from his touch, instead he pushed his head further into available hands.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Kew's muscles tensed as he slowly roused from his sleep, at first Neteyam always felt guilty about waking him but he then quickly understood that the boy didn't wake unless he actually wanted to.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Aqua blue arms snaked around his waist and out of habit Neteyam inched closer so the other could use him as a pillow, somehow he found soft places in Neteyam that he himself hadn't known about. Kew's favorite place was in the junction of his shoulder and his neck.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎He sunk more of his hands into the black hair, placing the hairpin carefully into the sand before reaching the scalp of the other. Kew softly purred and tightened his hold around his waist.
