IN THE PAST FEW HOURS Neteyam regretted a lot of things, life didn't run past him as his head dropped one final time on the rocks.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎For a while all he saw was white and only heard the rain hit the leaves of their forest.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎And then,

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"NETEYAM!"

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎When Neteyam gained sight again he was sitting right next to his body with his knees pulled to his chest like he had wrapped himself in a little ball.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎He slowly unraveled himself as the other boy came closer.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Kew'Itan's cry cracked through the night like a whip, Tsireya's sobs grew even louder at the sight of her broken brother.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎He dropped his daggers the moment his eyes were set on his unmoving chest.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎The boy repeated strings of 'no's' as he crouched down, each time his voice had grown softer as if he was begging, praying for him to be alive.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Neteyam leaned his head on Kew's as the boy cradled his body to his chest, Tsireya had done the same but no doubt the boy could only feel his sister's weight on him.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎I'm here. He mumbles once.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎I'm here! He cries when the other didn't answer him.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Please. He pleads. But the other only kept cradling his body.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Kew'Itan took a deep breath and brushed Neteyam's locks behind his ears setting him down again.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"Tsireya," he called to his sister when he made sure he wasn't crying anymore "go to father and mother, we need to make sure that all the sky people are dead."

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"No— Kew.." she whined holding his arm with both of her hands, and Neteyam only noticed it now, how similar they were. The same pouty lips that drove him crazy days before. Kew'Itan and Tsireya could have been twins in another life.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎"Please!" He begged her, leaning down to press their foreheads together "We're not loosing anyone else."

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎Tsireya kissed his cheek with a look in her eyes that told Neteyam she didn't trust his words.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎She sent a look to his body and bowed her head before diving back into the black waters.

‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎ ‎He hoped she was wrong.
