Author's Pov

"Here," Freya smiled at Evan who handed a warm cream bread to her holding one for himself. He took the seat on the bench beside her averting his gaze to the beautiful garden and water valley flowing peacefully.

Staring at the view for a few minutes he let the peaceful silence engulf them, he again turned his jet-black eyes to her finding her taking a small bite of soft warm letting the sweet taste hit her taste buds. He gazed at her patiently not wanting to disturb the peace that was reflecting on her pale face.

Freya always had a pale skin tone yet after a few days he had noticed her looking unusually pale and dull, the natural blush she used to have over her cheeks was nowhere to be seen anymore, Freya never used much makeup yet she still used to apply a light lip gloss and moisturizer over her face but now she had stopped doing that too and he knew why. She had stopped living.

"For how long you're going to do this?" Freya blinked as Evan broke the silence making her look at him. She took the last bite of the bread munching on it.

"Do what?" She mumbled meekly throwing the wrapper in the dustbin near the wooden bench.

She hugged her arms tightening the coat around her body trying to provide as much warmth as she could. It was mid of November which was why the weather was extremely chilly making her already dull face looked beyond paler. He sighed having no appetite to continue eating the bread.

"You know what I am saying, Freya! You can't keep on stressing yourself for something that wasn't your fault." She looked down as a small smile gradually appeared on her lips.

"I am not stressing Evan, I just need some time." She turned her face hurling an assuring smile to him.

"Don't worry, I am gathering myself. I am sure one day I will be able to get used to it." Evan's eyes softened in sadness upon hearing her words. She didn't say one day she will move on instead she wanted to get used to this pain and that's what he didn't want her to do so.

She should live her life, she should find her happiness, for him, she deserved the world's best man who could cherish this delicate innocent angel. He love her as his sister, as a well-wisher, and as a sincere friend and that was the main reason he wanted to find the best for her. He knew Ajax Steve would never let her go but now he had no option but to not keep Freya with him anymore. He should either help her move on from his selfish son or simply find a better man for her.

Freya was raised to be an ideal housewife for Leonard and she was happy with the idea as well that's why Evan never tried to tell her that she should think about studying further. Freya was a brilliant student, she aced every exam be it on paper or in real life. Not even a single being was alive that might have disliked Freya until Leonard returned.

He had shown her the things she wasn't familiar with, he was tainting her innocent fragile mind with his vicious and uncompassionate humiliation. Freya hadn't told everything to Evan, especially the bitter words he used to describe her. She just didn't have the heart to tell him about the humiliation she faced from the man she loved with her all.

Freya's eyes flickered in surprise when he held her hand placing his wrapped bread on the bench, she didn't protest letting him caress her cold hands using his warm ones. Hoisting his eyes to her curious blue ones he smiled at her.

"You know, you're precious to me." He mumbled making her nod her head. She knew how much she meant to him, he had already proved it in past six years.

"I don't want you to lose yourself for someone who is not worthy of you," He paused watching her dropping her eyes down as realization dawned on her.
