Author's Pov
Freya cautiously stared at the door of the room she used to maintain with her all, it was the same room she once considered her own. The way she used to enter this place without a second thought now she was debating if she should step in or not. She was never been this skeptical of this before yet his indifferent and harsh attitude had forced her to be this hesitant for the first time.
Sighing vetoed by her mind she knocked on the door and waited for a good few seconds but no response came out, she again knocked but again the reaction was the same. Grasping the knob she twisted it letting the door make a screeching sound as she entered carefully.
She took a few steps inside to get close to the place where she could try and find him, but to her utter shock, he was still laying on the bed slightly trembling. Her eyes widened and she instantly approached him only to furrow her eyebrows in worry. He didn't have any shirt on and this kind of embarrassed her but giving her full attention to his condition she hesitantly touched his forehead feeling his body burning with fever.
She didn't waste a second and grabbed the heavy blanket covering his writhing frame, "Seems like he caught a cold," She mumbled remembering how severe the weather had been for the past week.
Leonard had this physical condition of getting extremely sick whenever he used to take excessive tension about something, she concluded that he must have taken a heavy tension about the work as he just joined his company a few days ago. Her aunt wanted him to rest for a few days as he had been working continuously for the past ten years but after only 5 days' rest, Leonard joined his company his father didn't protest and let him handle the company, after all, it was his business now.
She again touched his sweaty forehead earning a small whimper from him, "M-Mom," She heard his weak voice trying to call out for his mother, and she looked at him with sympathy reminding herself that his mother wouldn't be here to take care of him.
Her aunt and uncle already flew to another city and it was nearly midnight when she decided to check on him and now she was regretting not coming here earlier if only she knew he was this sick she would have visited him faster. She decided to call the doctor but then her uncle's warning rang in her head.
"Do not go out in our absence, and do not let anyone come in as well. I don't want to take any risk regarding my son and your's life."
Recalling how serious he sounded she dropped the idea of calling the doctor, she knew her uncle had some enemies as well, after all being one of the richest men holding billionaire empires in his hand, it wasn't hard to make enemies. So being the scaredy cat she was she decided to not take any risks.
Thinking for a few seconds while staring at the restless shivering man she decided to use the old remedy to get rid of the fever, reaching the kitchen she filled the bowl with water before adding ice cubes to it and grabbing a soft material shredding it into a few pieces. Coming back to his room she threw a disappointed look at the burning man. He had removed the blanket from his body again.
Grabbing the duvet she again covered him even though he let out a few muffled whimpers wanting to discard the heavy material but she didn't let him, sitting beside him on the bed she angled his face and started doing her work. He kept on flinching each time she placed the cold iced cloth over his burning flesh but didn't protest. He had no energy to do so.
Freya kept on using the cold clothes over his body until the water turned completely hot, she touched his forehead and sighed when she felt his fever a little better but he still was extremely hot, she huffed in annoyance when he again kicked the blanket away from his body not letting the blanket provide him the needed warmth.
