"I packed them an extra set of clothes just in case they get them dirty. What you got planned?" Mia asked as she was putting their backpacks on them.
"I rented out a water park for the day," Key said as Eli took off running after her cousins.
"You gone watch three kids all by yourself at a water park?" Mia raised her eyebrows, she wasn't too sure that Key could handle it.
"Ima see if Lay wanna come." He didn't seem as into the conversation as he usually was.
"What's going on Key?" Mia asked crossing her arms over her chest.
"I did a DNA test on Eli and she's not mine. Lay gone sign over her rights for her." He said bluntly, he didn't even like talking about it. Mia didn't look surprised at all.
"I knew it. I mean do you blame Lay? What are you going to do?" Mia knew from the jump that Eli wasn't Key's but she was just going to let them do them.
"What you mean you knew? Ima find Brittany's ass. She can figure it out from there. I mean Eli got a lil lock on my heart but the one she calls mom doesn't even want her .. what I'm supposed to do?" He asked her, she shrugged her shoulders. This was a tough one.
"See why she doesn't want to keep Eli and go from there. You have plenty of help Key. Even if she doesn't wanna keep her. Knowing Lay though, there's probably something deeper."
"Mm." Key wasn't trying to hear it. Something else was bothering him too.
"What is it?" Mia looked him up and down, he still didn't look relieved.
"She lied to me. She said she was away at a retreat and then gone post this." Key showed her the screenshot he had on his phone.
"Maybe because she thought you'd hurt her or something?" Mia had seen that too and had an idea of who it was but at the same time she didn't.
"Nah. Ain't no reason for her to keep lying to me." He scoffed, Key tried to keep it play but no lie he really couldn't.
"Markeyvius. Just talk to the girl, damn. Kids come on." Mia called out so Key could take them on their adventure. She was going to get to the bottom of it.

Lay sat on the couch with her feet up as Golden rubbed cocoa butter on her stomach and periodically fed her grapes. They watched Abbott Elementary which was Lay's favorite show at the moment.
