chapter17:thank god

Holly began to open her eyes. As she slowly woke up she heard the heart monitor beeping with each beat her heart made.

Elvis saw that she had began to woke up and called for a doctor.

The doctor walked into the room and took the breathing tube out of hollys mouth so she can talk.

As she began to come to her senses she managed to mutter the words.

"W-what happened" holly said as she sat up.

" you took my sleeping pills that i left at your house." Elvis said as he hugged her

" i thought you were in germany."holly said as she hugged him back.

" i came as soon as johnny told me." Elvis said as he let go of holly.

After a couple minutes more doctors came into the room. They took holly to do more test to make sure she was okay and stable. While she was getting tested elvis called johnny and hollys parents to let them know that she was awake.

While holly was getting tests done everyone was in the waiting room. After about a half an hour later the doctor come into the waiting room to talk to hollys parents.

"Is my daughter ganna be okay?" Asked hollys mother.

"Yes mrs.cash will be okay, All of her tests came back negative. She is free to leave." The doctor told hollys parents.

" oh thank god " hollys mother said as she hugged her husband.

"Our girls ganna be okay." Hollys dad said as he hugged his wife back.

After they all found out the news johnny and elvis walked to her hospital room while hollys parents signed her release papers.

" hey hol how are you feeling." Johnny says as he walks into the room

"Okay i guess." Holly said looking down.

" what wrong darlin" elvis asked.

" its nothing, im fine really" holly said with a fake smile.

" darlin you can talk to us what going on."

"You have to go back to germany and then i wont be able to see you." Holly says as she starts crying.

" darlin i only have 5 more months and then im back in Memphis" elvis said as he wipes holly tears off her face.

Hollys parents walk into the room.

" hey honey are you ready to go home." Holly dad says as he walks into the room.

" yeah im ready." Hollys said as she got up from the bed.

It had now been a month since holly left the hospital. Elvis had gone back to germany. Holly was counting the days until elvis would return home.

Holly would wait by the phone all day and night waiting for elvis to call sometimes he would and alot of the times he wouldn't.

"Holly are u ever ganna come out of that room of yours." Johnny said outside of the door.

Holly opened the door.

" i like being in my room."

" no your waiting for him to call and half the time he doesn't." Johnny said as he walked into hollys room.

" hes busy, you know what its like to be in the army."

"I still made time for my family."

As johnny said that the phone rang. Holly hurried up and answered it.

" hello"

"Hey darlin, how have you been feeling" elvis said on the other line.

"Pretty good" holly said as she shooed her brother out of her room.

After talking for a few minutes elvis had to go.

After elvis hung up holly got ready for bed. She laid down thinking of elvis coming home and the future that they will have togther. As she was day dreaming she soon got tired and fell asleep.
