Chapter 10 (Swamp Demon)

"FINE I'LL GO BUT I WON'T GO IN YOAKE IS THERE, THERE IS NO WAY I WILL LET HIM SEE ME IN SUCH EXPOSING CLOTHING!" Sumiko yelled while the crow acknowledged her request and flew outside the house in circles while waiting for Sumiko. "I'M LEAVING UROKODAKI AND I'M NOT GOING OUT THE FRONT DOOR!" Sumiko said to Urokodaki who had still been left in shock after seeing the girl he called his daughter in such an outfit. With that Sumiko had vaulted out of the back window and started to sprint north east to let as few people see her as possible and she was blushing the entire way.

"I'm gonna kill the leader of the slayer corps if this is what all female demon slayers have to wear." Sumiko said to herself as she was approaching the village. A large sign said at the entrance "Welcome To Yasui Village" Sumiko walked into the village looking for the nearest clothing store to find something to cover up her chest. As she walks up to a coat shop she sees a familiar face. "Hey Sumiko! How's it going-" Yoake says while looking down to find something which he did not expect. "DON'T STARE YOU IDIOT!" Sumiko said while slamming her palm into his face while blushing. "MY BAD I DIDN'T MEAN TO!" Yoake said while quickly turning around to buy her a coat.

"Please forget what you saw earlier!" Sumiko said to Yoake who couldn't get the image out of his head. Sumiko said while zipping up the jacket which Yoake had kindly bought for her. "Well since we're here might as well ask around to see if we can find out the demon who's kidnapping girls." Sumiko said while dragging Yoake along who wanted to explore for a while. "Hello sir, would you happen to know about the recent disappearances?" Sumiko asked a man who had been looking quite sad.

"Oh uh no I don't know too much. I only really know that the kidnapper only takes girls who are between 10 and 16 but that's common knowledge. A girl as pretty as you should take care though my girlfriend recently was taken." Said the man which piqued Sumiko and Yoake's interest. "Could you lead us towards the place where your girlfriend was taken?" Sumiko said to the man who looked surprised.

"I mean sure but I don't think it will help much, we were just walking around and then she just vanished. I don't know what happened, her parents think I did something to her." The man said to the duo who had their suspicions confirmed. This was a case of a demon with preferences which was a lot harder to catch than a demon who kills indiscriminately. "Is this where they were taken?" Sumiko asked the man who looked depressed. "Yeah this is the place. I don't really know what you could do though. Wait, who even are you, are you guys detectives?" The man said to the duo who didn't know how to respond.

"Uh Yeah! were the new detective branch dispatched to deal with cases like these." They both said in sync waving their hands frantically. "Uhm alright I guess but can you do anything?" The man said while giving them a suspicious look. "I can figure out where the demon went with my sense of smell." Sumiko whispered to Yoake who in return gave her a suspicious look. "Really? You can do that?" Yoake whispered back in while making sure that the man did not overhear their conversation. "Yeah just distract him for a while and I'll send my crow when I find him alright?"

Sumiko had put her nose towards the floor and had caught the smell of a demon. "Perfect, let's follow this and put an end to this foul demon." Sumiko said to herself while following the scent of the demon.

The Sun Sets And The Moon Arises

"The scent of the demon is getting stronger! I can tell i'm getting closer I should get Yoake over here" Sumiko said while whistling for her crow.

Oooh would you look here it seems we have a young girl here you seem to be around the 14 or 15 age just perfect.

A demonic voice called out from behind her. "Welp here we go again." Sumiko said in her mind as she readied her blade and turned around to find a demon who seemed to be peeking out a hole in the floor. "Well hello demon, I'm guessing that you don't know how to turn a demon back into a human?" Sumiko asked the demon who had been licking his lips while looking at her. "Just you looking at me makes me feel gross. So would you please stop looking at me like that?" Sumiko said while shivers ran down her spine as the demon looked at her drooling.

"You disgust me, I'm just going to kill you and move on with my life you filth." Sumiko said while preparing a breathing form to attack the demon with.

Water Breathing 3rd Form, Flowing Dance!

Sumiko dashed towards the demon and tried to swing at its head but missed due to the demon ducking into some sort of puddle in the ground.

"I see what's happening he's able to go and come out of a puddle he creates on the floor." Sumiko thought to herself as she backed up and analyzed the situation. In an instant the demon appears out of the puddle and attempts to grab her leg but she kicks it away and slashes at it at the same time. "I can tell this is gonna be difficult." Sumiko said to herself as she carefully tried to smell the demon and its nex attack. As she was thinking she hadn't noticed the puddle had split into three and were quickly approaching.

*SHREEEEECH*

A terrible screeching sound had pierced throughout the village and stunned Sumiko due to the 3 screeching demons that had surrounded her.

"What happened? Shit! I wasn't paying attention to the demon!" Sumiko said while her mind went blank and her knees gave out.

"Hah! Every demon slayer has fallen for that one!"

The demon laughed while letting his guard down. The second Sumiko had noticed she tensed up her muscles and swung for its head. "HA YOU FOOL I WON'T MY GUARD FALL EVER AGAIN." Sumiko yelled out to the demon who had been surprised to see somebody withstand its screech attack.

"I'm not done yet! I wont lose here! I'll drag her under and she won't be able to breathe!"

The demon said to itself as it dragged Sumiko under into the puddle hoping to deprive her of oxygen. "Demon slayers need to breathe to be as strong as a demon right? So all I need to do is deprive you of the one thing you need and I'll win!" The demon said to Sumiko who had a smirk on her face like it phased her that she was being dragged into some type of swamp.

"Did you really think that a swamp with a small amount of oxygen would phase me? I trained on the legendary mount sagiri where the air is 30x thinner. Something like this would never phase me." Sumiko said menacingly to the demon who had split into 3 and were a decent ways away from each other.

Water Breathing 3rd Form, Flowing Dance, Improvised!

Sumiko yelled out while doing a variant of flowing dance which had sacrificed the speed for more power which was enough to decapitate 2 of the demons which sunk into an endless abyss.

Breath Of The Stars 2nd Form, Comet Shaker!

In an instant Yoake had jumped into the puddle and used a move which he quickly rushed towards the last demon and sliced while also doing almost 10 different slashes which fell onto the demon's body like a comet shower. "Quick, let's get out of here before the hole closes!" Yaoke yelled to Sumiko who was exhausted from creating a new form out of the blue. Once they had made it out of the puddle that had closed. "So what happened to you getting your crow over here?" Yoake said while giving Sumiko an intense side eye. "Oh yeah that. It uh attacked me after saying something about liking 15 year old girls or something. It was really uncomfortable he was licking his lips and stuff like that." Sumiko said while shuddering about what would've happened if she lost the fight.

"Well anyway, let's get you a new uniform and let's get out of here." Yoake said while remembering the scene from earlier in the day and having a nose bleed. "I swear to god i'm going to kill you and the corps leader." Sumiko said while walking away after slapping Yoake.

That'll do it for this chapter I've really been on a roll for the past few days but I think all my stream is gone. So (Probably) no more chapters for a little while (around like a week?) so uh yeah that'll give time for people to read this stuff and a while for me to go back and fix some mistakes and stuff if I feel like doing so. Yeah so thats about it I really wanted to have Sumiko get her new outfit this chapter but I felt like this was a better place to end it. That'll do it for now Mata atode wani ni aimashou.
