~(Y/N)'s POV~I watched as the guy's face met mine, I could tell anger was still evident in his expression as well as his body language, "What are you looking at-" but the boy, maybe my age, was cut in by Kellin's voice from beside me, catching me off guard and causing me to look at him "Vic?" he said, almost as if asking. I averted my eyes to 'vic' once more. The boy seemed confused for a second as I was, looking to Kellin as if searching for something, as if Kellin were wearing some type of nametag. I watched his eyebrows furrow in suspicion before his face changed and he seemed to recognise Kellin. From my assumption.
"Kellin?" The two guys were momentarily looking at each-other, Vic hesitant and awkward, looking at us as if he were unsure of what to do, and then reluctantly, he slowly made his way over. I looked over at Kellin, unsure of what to do because I was sort of like the odd one out in this situation. But he was concentrated on Vic as the two guys finally interacted more. Glancing between the two I noticed Kellin form a familiar sweet smile, the same one he gave me, whist Vic was a little more awkward with the confrontation. I don't know why but I felt some jealousy rise in me - what a stupid thing. Ofcourse he's just nice to everyone, I'm not speial.. yes I knew that.. But I couldn't help feeling a pang of disappointment - thought I tried to ignore it. As I watched the two I noticed how Kellin was dominant in almost every interaction, almost naturally.
"Hey uh.. I'm sorry about that.. didn't mean to yell, how have you been..?" Vic spoke up, "It's no problem, I've been doing good man" I sighed as I watched the two, feeling myself start to zone out.
~(Kellin's POV)~
A few minutes had passed and I didn't notice because I'd gotten so caught up by my old buddy. It wasn't until Vic pointed out (Y/n) that I noticed they were zoning out. "Yeah sucky situation.." he said, giving out a small sigh before looking to (Y/n), "Uh.. so are you dating yet orr.." he trailed off and I quickly snapped to look at the person sitting beside me, they seemed to be zoned out - I suddenly felt internally guilty for getting so distracted. I could tell Vic was asking a general question but it seemed aimed, "Oh my god-" I said, getting a confused look from Vic, "No- No- Not at all, we just met recently actually-" I felt my words move faster than what my brain could form, watching as they snapped out of it, looking to me and then Vic in a confused manner, "Huh", but I looked back at Vic. I caught him giving them an awkwardly sweet smile as they seemed confused. "How about we all go get a drink or something?" I asked suddenly, trying my best to fill in any awkward or silent gaps - hopefully motivating some bonding or conversation. The two sort of hummed in agreement and I got up off the bench, followed by (Y/n) - "Follow me I know a place with good like milkshakes - or - smoothies - if you're lactose intolerant.." I looked to (Y/n), feeling slight anxiety swirl as I secretly breathed in deeply, trying to calm my nerves and hyperactivity - I didn't want to make a bad impression and was trying hard to stay inclusive. It's only now that I realised how little I knew about (Y/n), and I was scared to death of making a mistake. I noticed their face still seemed a little in their own world, as if they were unhappy, so sheepishly I tried to make sure I didn't do anything wrong - I had no idea what they were thinking and no way of knowing. "..Are you ok?" I watched them shake their head for a second and then look at me, "oh my god yeah- I'm sorry I thought I said something I probably replied in my head-" they gave off a little chuckle and continued to walk - before I could ask again Vic had distracted me, elbowing me playfully in the ribs as if to get my attention. It caused a jolt of pain and I reacted my lightly shoving him.
~(Y/N)'s POV~
I watched as Kellin took charge and started leading us again, for some reason my brain had gotten stuck up on the disappointment like a slow-ass loading browser and wouldn't budge, I felt bad for my zoning out and took a breath as Kellin spoke to me again - I was still feeling weird about my many recent interactions with new people or people I just haven't seen in ages... People In General. Actually Just, people. I looked up and saw that sweet smile again, causing me to look away - niceness overload. Before I could say anything else Kellin was already play fighting with Vic, I had no idea what I missed in the entire two seconds in which my face was turned away but Vic was now tripping over and almost falling into the direction of a vegetable and fruit store with fruit on display.
Kellin caught his arm in time as the two let out a laugh, at the sight I sort of smiled too.
