After school, Dean rushed to drive Castiel, Ana, and Sam home so he could get ready for his and Castiels date. Dean was so excited about their date that he was ready by 4:30, even though they weren't going to dinner until 6:00. About twenty minutes later, Castiel texted Dean and informed him that he was ready, inviting Dean to come to get him.

As he walked to Castiel's house, Dean seemed lost in thought. Although he was nervous, Dean was also very excited about this date. On one hand, he couldn't believe he was actually going out with Castiel, a person with whom he wanted more than just a one-night stand. On the other hand, this was the first time Dean wanted anything more than a one-night stand, and he had absolutely no idea what to do in a situation like this.

Dean waited a few moments before knocking on the door. A short brunette man opened the door, "You must be Castiel's friend, Dean! I'm his father, Chuck. I'm so glad he's been able to make friends so quickly." He ushered Dean into the house before shutting the door and leading him into the living room. "So, what's the plan for tonight? You and a few other friends are going to that new movie?"

Before Dean could deny his question, Castiel walked down the stairs," Yeah, that's the plan!" He said enthusiastically.

"Okay..." Chuck said suspiciously. "Don't stay out too late, it's a school night," he added as Castiel and Dean walked out the front door.

When the pair got into Dean's car, Castiel apologized to Dean. "Sorry for confusing you back there. I had to lie because my parents already assume I'm gay and they're kind of disappointed, so when I have a date, I just tell them it's a group event," Castiel said as he looked at Dean with sad eyes. "I understand if you don't want to see me anymore because of that."

"No, it's fine Cas. I understand why you lied to your parents," Dean replied with a smile. "Plus, I don't plan on leaving until I get laid," he added to lighten the mood, making Castiel laugh.

After a short drive to the local diner, the pair sat down at a booth in the back corner of the restaurant. They ordered drinks, and after the waitress embarrassed herself by trying to flirt with Dean, he and Castiel began talking about something they both had in common: their love for horror movies. Dean couldn't help but laugh when he thought about this sheltered, preacher's son and his love for all things scary and paranormal.

"How does one become so obsessed with a genre of movies?"

"How does one become obsessed with a genre of music?" Castiel retaliated with a laugh.

"Okay, you got me there. What do your parents think about your little obsession?" Dean asked.

Castiel gave Dean a sad smile, "They think it's the devil trying to persuade me to sin so they don't let me watch them." No matter what, Castiel always found a way to watch horror movies. His favorite was The Shining, and he kept a DVD copy of the movie under his mattress so his parents wouldn't find it.

"I've heard that's true," Dean joked. "Maybe that's why you're gay."

"I would consider that if it weren't for the fact that so are you, and you aren't religious," Castiel replied with a laugh. Although Castiel was a firm believer in his faith, it didn't bother him that Dean didn't believe that God was real.

"If you're banned from watching horror movies, how did you get so into them?" Dean asked. Before Castiel could even respond, Dean was already thinking of new questions for him. Dean loved hearing him talk about his passions.

"A close friend of mine had just watched the Conjuring movies for the first time and told me I had to watch them so she snuck them over in an Amish Grace case, which my parents found funny because we already owned that movie but they didn't question it. We watched all three movies while my parents were at a Sunday evening service. And I was hooked after that."

"I watched those movies, too! They weren't as scary as I thought. The real Conjuring house and the stories told by Ed and Lorraine Warren are way scarier than those movies," Dean replied, happy that he could take part in Castiels obsession.

"Enough about me. You obviously love classic rock. What are your thoughts on Punk Goes Classic Rock?" Castiel asked. He was glad that Dean wanted to get to know him, but Castiel was more concerned with knowing everything there was to know about Dean Winchester.

"Don't even get me started on that trainwreck! How could they mess up some of the greatest classic rock songs in history like that? Paying tribute my ass..." Dean trailed off as Castiel reached across the table and grabbed his hand.

"I'll get you into horror movies and you'll get me into rock music, deal?"

"You've got yourself a deal, Novak."
