Castiel ended up staying at Dean's house once they left the secret treehouse. The two spent the rest of the evening in Dean's bed, watching scary movies and talking until they both passed out. The following day, Castiel left early for a job interview, so Dean was confused when there was a knock at the front door.
When the boy opened the door, he saw Ana crying on the front doorstep.
"Hey Ana, Sam isn't home right now," he said with confusion laced in his voice.
"I know. I just remembered that he's with Gabriel. I'm sorry, I just needed some company and had nowhere else to go," she whispered, looking down at her feet.
Dean felt for the girl so he let her inside and sat her down on the couch. "Talk to me," he said, handing Ana a mug of hot coffee.
"I just can't take it anymore, Dean. I can't stand to be constantly reminded that I'm going to Hell if I continue to sin. And whenever I look at myself in the mirror, I hate what I see. I have no one to talk to about this stuff because my family just tells me to turn to God and my friends back home don't care anymore! Now I'm ranting about my problems to a guy I just met and you probably think I'm a stereotypical fourteen-year-old just looking for attention," Ana said as she threw her face into her hands and sobbed.
"Ana, life is tough. I can't imagine the pressure you and your brother have on you. Being the new kid is tough and being told that all of your problems can be solved with prayer is hard, but I will always be here for you," Dean replied as he hugged the young girl.

After an hour, Ana thanked Dean for the coffee and advice and left to go home. When the girl arrived home, she told Castiel about her and Dean's encounter.
"Cas, you will never guess what I did today!" she said, running into her brother's bedroom. "I spent the day with Dean and he is such an amazing guy! Now I realize why you're such good friends with him. So, I went over to his house to see Sam since I had a shitty day,"
"Don't swear," Ana continued, ignoring her brother's remark about her language.
"But as soon as I knocked on the door, I remembered that he wasn't there. Dean let me inside and I basically broke down and told him everything... not about you!" she added, seeing Castiel's worried expression, "Just about me and how I've been feeling."
The boy couldn't help but feel a little jealous. Here he was, listening to his little sister rave about how great his boyfriend was, and he couldn't say anything to stop her since the two boys weren't officially together. "He's a really great guy," Castiel said with a soft smile. "And I have something to tell you."
"Let me finish first, please. I really like him, Cas. It's crazy, I know, but there's just something about him. Do you think he's into me?"
Castiel was visibly upset but he tried his hardest to hide it from his sister. "I don't know, A, maybe," he said with a small smile.
"So what was it that you wanted to tell me?" Ana asked, sitting down next to him.
"Oh, nothing," Castiel said, kissing the top of her head. "I'm just glad you're happy."
