4. Writer in the dark

It is another day of work I get up at 7 am so I can get to work at 7:30 I need as much sleep as I can get, I hop in the shower then almost fall asleep in the shower, Rosie and I walk down to the cafe since today we have the same shift.
We go to the back put our aprons on and open up the cafe to the public. it was a long day with rude customers and assholes demanding more than I could give, I was in a terrible mood until she walks in. "can I get another coffee please" I knew her coffee order by heart I mean she did come in every day so over time I just remembered it "yeah of course"
"do you need me to tell you what it is" I shake my head "no, I remember what it is"

"That's sad I come here so often you know what I get by heart" We both laugh "I understand trust me because I sneak some while I'm here just so I'm not grumpy all day"
"I feel you there, what's your name"
"Ivy, what's yours"
she reaches her hand out for me to shake I panic no ivy calm down don't worry it'll be fine "Gracie, I love your name by the way" come on Ivy don't do something embarrassing
"oh thanks, I didn't choose it so I'm just glad I got a good one" dear god She lets out a loud laugh at my dry joke then she covers her mouth with her hand I try not to blush but the mission failed I blush big time I just hoped she didn't notice.
I make her coffee and bring it to her
"I just realized you knew my name because you give me coffee every day" I laugh a little
"yeah but it was nice to be introduced to you so I didn't mind"
"Okay Ivy well I'm gonna go write. Have a great day, and thanks for making all my coffees" I question what I should say or do next "That is my job" I salute those who the fuck salutes people?
I turned over to Rosie she was smiling at me which I was guessing meant she saw that whole thing "Oh my god she was flirting" I tried not to freak out "She was not and shut up she'll hear" I started to whisper so she won't hear us
"well, of course, she is here" god she won't give up on this will she If don't even say anything I just walk away "Ohh and don't get me started on the salute at the end I mean come on Ve what was that" She lets out a wheeze I start to laugh with her "I don't know I panicked she's too pretty I can't focus whenever I'm around her" We immediately stop when we see our boss walk by "girls quit laughing and work" we try not to laugh even more what is it whenever you're in a serious situation
Though just like always Gracie stays almost until closing she says goodbye to me and then she leaves.
