Night was dawning on the city as Katsuki blasted through the area, trying his hardest but still failing to locate Deku. He'd been searching for hours but he refused to stop. He was getting desperate to find the other, although he'd never admit that fact to anyone. He huffed as he stopped on a rooftop and glanced around, taking a moment to catch his breath before he continued his search.
Dammit Deku, he thought, frustrated. Where the hell did you go?
He put his hands back and blasted himself back into the air, his scarlet eyes scanning for the other as he flew forward.
He's been hiding in the alleyways. He has to have been. That's how he found Shigaraki.
He suddenly gasped as someone zipped into the air out of nowhere, blasting himself back in case they wanted to attack him. He landed himself on top of a rooftop as he tried to see who it was, only for them to land right in front of him.
Deku, he thought, analyzing the other. Deku's hair and outfit were both ruffled, the outfit having a few rips and tears although he was fairly unhurt.
You look like shit.
"Kacchan!" Deku exclaimed, smiling brightly. "You came for me!"
Katsuki blinked at him, before shaking his head and putting an angry expression on his face. "Yeah yeah whatever!" He hissed. "The hell'd you run off for??"
Deku completely ignored him. "Come on! We can go after them together!" He suggested cheerfully, turning around and jumping up on the wall at the edge of the building.
Katsuki was taken aback.
"They couldn't have gotten far," he mumbled. "Given the injuries Shigaraki had received and the burns Dabi inflicted on himself, the two would hardly be able to get anywhere in particular. They'd get lucky if they did, but the chances are pretty low..." As Deku continued to mumble to himself, Katsuki noticed the bandages that wrapped around his left arm. The green haired boy immediately stopped talking and glared blankly at Katsuki as he grabbed onto his left arm and examined it.
"The hell happened to you?" He questioned.
Deku yanked his hand away, his expression terrifying. Katsuki felt a chill run down his spine. Izuku's stare wasn't one he'd ever seen on his face, although it was akin to the one Midoriya had when he'd won the first battle trial with Ochaco by blowing up half the building. It wasn't one that the Deku he knew would ever wear. Not consciously.
"Deku, we're going back to U.A.," he ordered firmly. "You're being a damn idiot."
"I'm not going anywhere, Kacchan," Deku spoke, his voice cold. He then grinned. "But come with me!"
"... What?"
"We'll kill them together! Just you and me! What do you say?" He stared at the blond in anticipation. Katsuki couldn't find a response, shock on his face as he stepped back slightly. Deku saw this, a mischievously testing look in his expression. "You always shout about killing all the bad guys, so why not start now? I'll be right by your side~"
Katsuki didn't respond for a second, before he clenched his fists. "Dammit, you idiot," he growled, his voice cracking. "What the hell are you saying? Those words should never come out of your mouth!!"
Deku simply stared at him in silence, his expression slowly changing.
"Stop saying you want them dead! That's not what you want!!"
Daku scoffed. "Then what do I want, Katsuki?"
The blond froze immediately as Deku failed to use the nickname he'd used all their lives. "Y-you..." He took in a nervous breath. "You want to save people with a smile. It's what you've always wanted..."
