The moonlight reflected off the puddles laying on the sidewalk. The bright streetlights of Yokohama shone on the ground. Restaurants and shops were closed, and there was nobody around except for the occasional car driving past every few minutes.

Y/N sighed as she sat down on a bench that was placed in front of a small stationery shop, which had closed at 8 pm. She'd been inside of it before, and she had met the owner. A middle-aged, kind, rather small woman with a beautiful smile, she was. Y/N hadn't seen the woman in a while, though. She knew that she had two sons, and her husband was a police officer before he passed away. The poor woman had to try to make a living out of the small stationery shop for her children. Y/N had even babysat them once when they were younger. Yosano had also known the woman, and when she needed someone to babysit her children for a day, Yosano was busy, but Y/N wasn't. They were quite a joy to be with. Energetic as ever and grateful for everything they had, never asking for more.

The small store was connected to others, as well as a restaurant. There was a bookstore, a boutique, a wedding dress shop, and an American food restaurant. All of them were closed. In fact, the only thing that was open was a gas station that was about half a block away.

Y/N decided to sit alone with her thoughts for the time being, but only after a minute or two was her relaxed state interrupted by the sound of a motorcycle engine. She turned her head and watched the vehicle turn into the parking lot of the bar that she passed on her walk a few minutes earlier. 'Probably just another heartbroken soul wanting to drown out their problems with alcohol,' she thought. Last time she went on a walk this late at night, she bumped into two intoxicated, middle-aged men. They said some things to her that any woman-objectifying drunk would, but luckily, Dazai was there to help her get out of the mess.

She looked down at her watch, which read 2:43 am, and she decided that it was time to walk back to the Agency's headquarters. She stood up and began walking back towards the way she came. Just a minute later, after she'd passed the bar, she began to hear footsteps behind her, echoing her own. She sped her steps up a little, and like Peter Pan's shadow, they sped up with hers. She began to walk faster, and faster, and faster, desperate to get away from whatever was chasing her. Soon enough, she was running away from her chaser. She turned a quick alley way and heard the footsteps fade out. 'Finally,' she thought as she released her hold of oxygen and began to catch her breath. She sighed and leaned her head back against the brick wall of the building behind her. "Never again will I go on a walk by myself."

A gloved hand covered her mouth, her eyes widened, and a hushed voice spoke. "You're right. Because you're coming with me," and she felt the pain of a needle piercing the skin of her arm and liquid being injected into her tense body before she lost consciousness.
