After everything that happened, Pip knew what would be waiting on the other side.
A life of crime, be it murder or robbery.
Whatever it was, it was her utmost destiny.
She didn't know, but something in her gut, something pulling, told her that a bad thing was waiting for her.
Proof of that showed itself in her second year of college.
No, in the year she dropped out of college.
The year she and Ravi moved into a small New York apartment together, and the year Pip found herself a new way to make money.
Ravi was eager to help.
—
"Okay, Ravi," She told him, taking his hands, dressed fully in black. "I love you. I adore you, Ravi. This is so important to me. Thank you for doing this. When you see me -"
"Pull open the door, and go."
"Good. I love you." She told him, pressing a kiss to his forehead as she slipped out of the car, walking casually inside, dressed in her smartest black shirt and skirt, heels clacking against the tile as she entered the bank.
A black medical mask over her mouth and nose, and thick black makeup on her eyes to appear, hopefully, unrecognizable.
Leather gloves on her hands, and a Glock in her purse.
She was shaking, but she would be okay. She hoped that she would be okay. She would be okay.
As she neared the teller, her hand slipped into her purse, fingers closing around the gun.
"This is a robbery," she whispered casually, pulling out the gun and pressing it against the tellers head. "If you move, if any of you move," she shouted. "I shoot."
"Yes ma'am," the teller gulped, sweat dripping down her forehead. "H - How much?"
"Everything. Fucking everything. Jewelry, cash, everything. Hurry, please." Pip said kindly, a smile under her mask.
She jumped onto the counter, sitting with her legs crossed as she held fast to the gun. "Don't move an inch," her voice quavered. "None of you."
It took fifteen minutes for the teller to return, a large bag in hand. She slipped as she handed them to Pip, Pip glaring daggers into her soul.
"If you called the cops, I will hunt you, I will kill you, and I will bury you where nobody will ever find your body. That goes for every single one of you." She hissed, sucking in her lip before she broke into a run, nearly slipping over her own feet.
When Ravi saw her cascading down the sidewalk, he pulled the door open and she hurled herself into the car, kicking her heels off as he peeled out of his parking place.
"Go, go, go!" Pip yelled, grabbing his hand.
She shivered at the distant sound of police sirens as Ravi drove, pulling onto a busy highway and slowing his speed to a normal one.
Not the speed of a man and his girlfriend running from the police, no, the speed of a man and his girlfriend going on an evening drive. A road trip, really.
Their bags had already been packed. All this was was a visit to family and friends from their small hometown.
A visit to the town where she murdered a man.
A visit to the scene of the crime, of the kidnapping. To the scene that started everything.
Where she had lived, died, and been reborn.
