After my group project session, I went back to my dorm and showered. Then I left to go pick up my sisters. As a freshman I'm not technically allowed to have a car on campus but my grandparents gave them a more then generous donation to pull some strings.
I got them from the airport and decided it was best to discuss our plans for the next few days and what is happening with our family drama. We decided to go to a small restaurant not far from the campus. Our mother randomly decided to leave Boston and go to Monterey, California to go visit our grandparents, with whom she has not seen in a few years. While also proceeding to tell my sisters to not come home at all or even visit my grandparents. Then decided to send them off to me at college with no explanation or anything.
"I really don't know what is happening," Laney says taking a sip of her water.
"Yeah, it's just so weird," I begin but the waiter cuts me off to take our orders. All three of us order spaghetti and meatballs and a margarita pizza for the table to share.
"Let's just forget the family drama for now," both of my sisters nod. "Right now, we need to figure out a plan to make it seem like us two," I point to Lola and back to me, "are not related to Laney. It's just all a coincidence that my younger sister and Nicks girlfriend came to visit for the weekend," I tell them smiling and nodding.
"Sounds good," Lol says taking a bite of bread.
"Like sure," Laney begins, "but Lola and I are like identical."
"So? You have two different colored eyes," I grab a piece of bread from the basket.
"Alright," she says in weird tone and I roll my eyes, breaking my bread in half.
"No one will know," I reassure her. "Who would even be like 'Oh my god! Nicks famous model girlfriend Laney is identical to rando Riley's little sister Lola! They must be sisters!" I mock her laughing, while she looks displeased.
"Go fuck yourself," I laugh even harder.
"After dinner I'm gonna drive us to the hockey house to surprise Nick. Let's just say we're close family friends and you planned this whole thing to surprise him. I agreed and then I told Lola who wanted to be in on it." Both of my sisters nod at my marvelous plan to fool all of our friends except Westie. I didn't tell Westie my sisters were coming and I wanted to surprise her too. So I texted her to meet me at the hockey house in an hour and she happily agreed.
We had a great time catching up at dinenr about our hectic lives. I was almost horrified to learn that Lola was in her thirtienth relationship within the past two months. She said this guy is better then the other twelve because he's the tallest and then proceeded to tell us that if a guy is above six feet, red flags start becoming pink. I was so lost with what she talking about I almost choked on my spaghetti. Laney had the most hectic life out of all of us. She was constantly at photo shoots all day, or she was at some runway show, or she was preparing for a runway show.
I really do not know how she does it at all. I would die. She's the tallest of us three at a staggering height of 5'10. Lola is 5'6 and I'm 5'7. The height in our family is impressive because our mom is 5'4. So, I'm assuming our dad was really tall but we haven't seen that man in years. The one rule our mom set when he left was that we are never allowed to mention him ever.
We had finally arrived at the hockey house where Laney surprised Nick. The whole thing was disgustingly adorable. She was crying. He was shocked. He hugged her. She hugged him back. Blah blah blah. The worse part is they are still blocking the doorway. I decide to make my move by squashing in between Laneys back and the wall which I succeed in doing so. Lola was smart she went right inside when Nick opened the door.
