Jealousy

chapter 12

As I slowly open my eyes I hear yelling from the distance. I sit up slowly and my dog came running in my room looking scared. He jumped on my bed and into my lap whining. "What's wrong?" I ask him like he can hear me. He snuggles into my chest some more after we hear a few shouts.

I set him on my bed and stand up. I walk slowly and quietly down the stairs. The yelling gets louder. I make it all the way downstairs and I see my mom and dad in the living yelling at each other. My mom stops once she sees me. She doesn't say anything. My dad finally stops yelling when he realizes that she isn't yelling back the he looks over to me.

I don't move but say, "What's happening?" I ask. My mom rushes over to me and hugs me. "I'm sorry we were so loud. Go back upstairs. Don't you need to get ready?" She lets go of me and I nod then walk back upstairs. I don't hear anything. It's quiet like everyone's asleep. I sigh and open my door then get ready.

As I'm walking out the front door I notice mom or dad hasn't left. I scoff and head to Owens car.

"Hey, princess." Enzo greets me. I slam the car door and ignore him. Spencer looks back at me. "You good?" He ask as Owen starts to drive off. "Parents?" Owen ask. I sigh and nod. "Did they tell you yet?" Owen ask. Can we stop talking about this? "No, not yet at least." I say.

"How about we talking about how much I'm going to dominate this season?" Enzo says changing the subject. I look up at him and smile. Thank you, Enzo. "I personally think you suck at basketball." I say. "Agreed." Spencer and Owen say in unison. "Whatever?" Enzo rolls his eyes.

"Spencerrrrr.." I say batting my eyes. He looks back and grins. He hands me my joy and I take out my lighter. I light it before Enzo could stop me. I roll my window down and take a puff. "Stop giving her stuff." Owen says to Spencer.

"Literally." Enzo agrees.

"Rue." Spencer says putting his hand in the back I hand him my lighter and he lights his.

"Where's yours?" I ask him.

"Owen took it." He says.

"I should be taking yours too, Rue." I roll
my eyes at Owen.

"I hate school." I whine dropping my joy on the sad cement floor outside my school building.

We walk in and the first person I see is Neveah. She smiles and waves at me. I smile and wave back. I hear Enzo scoff and I just know he's rolling his eyes. "At least it's a she and not a he." I say walking off to my locker. "Whatever." Enzo whispers as I walk away.

Owen and Spencer go to make out as always and I'm stuck alone. Again. "Hey." I hear someone say behind me. I turn around thinking it might be someone interesting but it's...Matt?

My heart starts to beat faster and I feel it again. His touch. His lips on mine. His hand on mine. My breathing gets worse but I try to keep it steady. "Lets talk where no one's around." He ask. I shake my head no but he leans down to my ear and whispers, "I'm not fucking asking." He slides his hand down my thigh.

Tears start to fill my eyes but I quickly wipe then away and let Matt take me to an empty classroom. It's dark. The only light is the light coming from the little window on the door. I could only see the first row of desk thats by the door but the rest is pure darkness.

I lean on the wall by the door. "What do you want to ta-" I get cut off by lips on mine. I push him off me and I could see the rage in his eyes. "You said talk. N-not.." My voice grew quieter as his hand dropped to my waist. "Matt..please let go." I say. He takes my hands and hold it in one of his over my head.

"I'm getting major deja vu." He bites his lips and before I could cry out for help his lips were pushing on mine.

I hate this. I hate him. Why can't he just go away? My salty tears roll down my cheeks and onto the floor. It was so quiet I could hear it drop. Besides Matts groans and me moving around trying to get out of his grasp.

He lets go of my lips for breath and I shout, "Help!" Right when those words left my mouth the bell rung. My tears turn into sobs. Matt was about to return his lips to mine but he gets pulled back by something..someone?

I could hear Matts screaming but it was muffled like someone was holding their hand over his mouth. "Hello?" I say. Just then the lights are turned on and Matt is laying on the floor by my feet unconscious. I look towards the light and I see one of the mysterious killers, Axel.

His face was in a bored expression and his dull eyes were staring into mine. "Are you okay?" He ask. His voice.. "Uh, yeah.." I tell him. He nods his head about to leave.

"Wait!" I call out to him. He turns back with the same expression. "What'd you do to Matt?" I ask him.

"Nothing serious. He's just asleep." He answers me.

I nod my head. "When will he be up?" I ask.

"Why are you so worried about this guy?" He ask.

"Huh."

"He was trying to rape you. Why do care when be wakes up. You be wishing he never does."

Why do I care? "I guess I just care for people a lot." I tell him.

"Well he'll wake up in about an hour or two." He says. "Also you should really be careful. Don't let him walk all over you like that." Just like that he's out the door and probably on his way to class.

I sigh and leave Matt unconscious on the floor. I choose not to go to class. Maybe I'll skip school. Hopefully my mom won't be mad.

I grab my book bag and walk out to the parking lot. I grab my phone from my pocket about to text Owen until someone taps me on my shoulder. I turn around and see I believe this one is Tess, one of the twins.

"Hey!" She says with a big smile.

"Tess right?" I ask as my curiosity gets the best of me.

"Yeah actually. Good job!" She says jumping up and down clapping. I smile.

"Your very beautiful by the way." I compliment her.

Her smile gets wider. "Thank you! Your just as beautiful!" She says.

I smile back. "What are you doing out here?" I ask her.

"Me and my friends were gonna skip. You wanna join?" She ask.

"Oh no. I don't wanna interrupt y-"

"TESS!" I hear. I look over and see her twin running over here. She gets to us breathing hard. She hover over and places her hands on her knees. "What's taking you so long?" She says through breaths.

When she finally calms down Tess answers, "I was just chatting with a friend." She says. Dawn looks up and places her biggest smile.

"YOU HAVE FRIENDS?!" Dawn says surprise and excited. I smile at her. "What's your name?!?" She ask.

"Ruth but you can call me Rue." I tell her. She nods with a big smile.

She gasps and says, "You should come with me and Tess and our friends! That would be so cool for you to come!" Dawn says. Tess nods agreeing with her.

"Alright. I was planning on skipping anyway." I say following both of them to the back of the schools parking lot. "Why do you guys park in the back?" I ask them.

"We don't," Tess says. "but Axel does." Dawn finishes.

Axel..I totally forgot they were apart of the killers. Shit..Enzos gonna be pissed.

We get to the group and they're all in his truck. Axel in the driver seat, Neveah next to him, and the rest are in the trunk.

"Hey,Dean. She's coning with us so make some room." Tess says. They both leave me and went in the front. "Oh its you." Dean says. Caleb looks over at me.

"You know her?" Caleb ask him. Dean nods. "Me and her are locker buddies." He says with a smirk.

"We're in the same class." Dean says. He gets up and opens the door to the trunk. "Hop in." Caleb says. Dean offers his hand to me. I walk around to the back and take his hand. He lifts me up and I hop in. I sit next to Caleb, lean my back up against the window that shows Axels, the twins, and Neveah.

Dean sits back down next to me and the car starts. "You cool?" Caleb ask me. I nod.

This is going to be a long ride. I hope I don't by the end of it. If I do I hope my mom and dad know I love them.
