More Angst!

Robin sits at the counter of 'Scoops Ahoy' ,waiting for customers. „Anything new with Nancy?" Steve asks. „No, what should be new?" She asks. „I don't know", he laughs, „You said you had a 'plan'. What ›is‹ your 'plan' anyways?" Robin blushes at the thought of her 'plan'. „I want to write a poem." She confesses. „Ohh, how dose it go?" Robin hands him a letter.
The poem goes:

The beacon of Love

In a world that's upside down,
I found myself lost and alone.
But then you came along,
and showed me a love unknown.

You were the light in the darkness,
a beacon of hope
in a place so strange,
and when I look into your eyes,
I see a future that's not deranged.

Your smile is like a ray of sunshine,
breaking through the clouds of despair
and when you hold me close,
I feel like there's no pain I can't bear.

So let's face the monsters together,
hand in hand, side by side
and let our love be the one thing
that can conquer the evil tide.

I never thougt I'd ever find love in a world so bizare,
but with you Nancy Wheeler,
I know we can go far.

So let's make a promise to each other: to always fight for what's right,
and let our love be beacon in the
darkness of the night
-Robin

As Steve reads the poem his eyes widen. He laughs a little before turning serious. „That seems like you fell hard for Nancy!" Steve says. Robin blushes even more. „Well, uhm, I guess I did. I don't think I will give her this anytime soon though." She addmits. „It's your decision to make." Steve says. Robin just nods.

Then suddenly Nancy comes in with Mike and Holly. Steve mumbles: „Speak of the devil." With a little chuckle. As Nancy spots Robin, her expression turns nervous again. Wich is a sign to Robin that, at least Nancy dosen't like her, not even platonicly. She turns sad. „Look at her face! She is so uncomfortable around me!" Robin whisper screams to Steve. „Like I said Buckley, it also could be because she likes you back!" He whispers back.

Robin kind of ignores him. Nancy walks up to the counter. „Uhh, hi. Holly, Mike what Ice cream would you like?" Nancy, avoiding to look in Robins eyes, says.  Robin just wants to cry.  „Chocolate!" Holly exclaims. „In a waffle or cup?" Nancy asks Holly. „Waffle, please!" Holly responds. „Ok. Mike?" She asks, now facing Mike. „Mh, Cookie in a waffle." He simply responds. „Ok, I'll take strawberry, also in a waffle." Now she looks at Robin again. Her expression unreadable. She looks... kind of dreamy but snaps out of it.

„Alright, is that all?" „Yes." Nancy pays. And is about to leave but Robin can't hold it anymore. „Nancy! Can we...talk?" „Nancy stops. „Sure" she seems really nervous now. She hands Mike the keys so he can unlock the car. „Go ahead in the car! I'll come after!" She says to them.

Robin then pulls her aside. „What?" Nancy asks. „Why.. why are you avoiding me?" Robin asks. „I'm not!" Nancy tries to explain. „Yes you are! Look, I know I can be much but, at least tell me what's wrong and fucking say it to my face, instead of pulling this bull shit." She says. Her eyes tear up.  „Look it's not like that! I like you. I really do! I'm just- ", her voice quietens, „I'm just going through something. But that dosen't mean I don't like you. I like you, a lot actully." Robin dosen't know that Nancy means that she likes her in a romantic way. But she hopes so much for it.

Robin nods. „Ok, sorry. I didn't mean  to hurt you. " She says. „It's ok, I- don't worry." She pats Robin on the shoulder. But Robin still feels like something is off. She thinks: 'Why is she lying?'

Nancy walk out the door, to her car and drives away. Robin walks up to Steve. Steve just looks at her and then speaks: „I see why you are so anxous about Nancy not liking you, but I have a theory: I think she's going through a sexualty crisis and dosen't know how to handle it, you know how people are about the gay community." Steve has a point. „But how do I know?" Robin asks. „Give her the Letter!" Steve say, pointing at the letter in Robins hand.  Robin automaticly looks at the letter. „I probably should, I'm just going to wait a little." She says. „Fair enough!" Steve responds. Then new customers come in.
