Chapter 3.
It had been a week since the murder. The cops hadn't found any evidence. They were running about like chickens with their heads cut off. The media had blown up the case and the gossip mills were on overdrive debating about the way the murder had been committed.
Dayton and Sloan had interrogated all of Jennifer's friends and family, wondering if she had any enemy or any scorned lover or stalker who could have done this, but they couldn't find anything that indicated any suspicion. Another week passed looking and searching for clues but to no avail.

It was a fine Monday morning; Dayton was busy looking up something on the computer. Sloan was doing some paperwork. Just then the office phone began buzzing. One of the uniforms picked up the call, "Hello. NYPD Homicide. How may I help you?"
On the other end, the caller was hysterical, half screaming and half sobbing.
"Madam calm down. Now please tell me what the problem is?"
"There has been another killing, like the werewolf case." Trying to control a sniffle, "She is just a small girl, how could they do this to her? The poor girl."
"Okay ma'am, please give me the address. I'll send my team down there and please make sure no one goes near the body, it's officially a crime scene now."
"It's the Boulder children's community park off 63rd street, Park Avenue."
"Okay ma'am we will be there in 10 minutes." and hung up.
The uniform informed Dayton and Sloan there had been another killing in Park Avenue.
Dayton sighed, "I had an inkling this was not going to be a single murder case, it was going to turn into a serial murder case. You guys leave immediately. We will follow you guys."

The body was found by Leila, the woman who called the cops. She found it while her morning jog. The body was behind the play area behind some bushes. It was just like before, nude with her arms and legs wide open and torso torn open till her navel and heart missing.
When Dayton and Sloan reached the crime scene, a crowd had gathered around. After inspection of the body and crime scene, the body was sent to the forensics. The cops began to ask around. The girl's parents were informed and they had identified the body to be their daughter.
Both Dayton and Sloan approached the girl's parents. They were in shock. They told the detectives that last evening their daughter Julie had gone to her friend Natalie's house to study and was supposed to return by 9pm. They had waited till 10, but when she didn't return they called up Natalie to ask if she if she was still there, Natalie said that Julie had left by 8.30 itself. They got really worried and called up all her friends but to no avail and so began searching the neighbourhood but couldn't find her and decided to go to the cops for help and filed a missing person's case and today in the morning the cops called them to identify the girl's body. She was just 15 years old and brilliant in her studies.
Sloan solemnly replied, "We are really sorry. I too have a daughter and I can understand your plight. We'll do our best in finding this maniac."
Both of them left determined to find the pervert.
