A piece of paper was placed in the middle of the table. Two young teenagers sat across from each other, gazing at the document proposed in front of them. Slowly, their eyes stared at each other, the male rolling his eyes as he leaned back in his chair, stretching his arms.
The female who sat across from the male hit one of her sisters with her leg. Her sister jumped and glared at the young female before diverting her attention toward their parents, standing up.
"I'll be heading out. Kanae needs me for something." Everyone in the room turned to her before a middle-aged redhead spoke up.
"It was nice meeting you, Shinobu." Shinobu gave a slight smile in response and swiftly left the room. The room fell silent as the middle-aged redhead cleared his throat, breaking the silence. His eyes fell upon the paper in the middle of the table. The Kochos turned to each other as they nodded, agreeing to the same thing.
"I think it might be time to sign it," Mr. Kocho stated as he checked his watch. The other pair of family nodded while Kanao grabbed her phone out of her purse, trying to distract herself as they signed the contract.
Her eyes gazed throughout the room. Her eyes fell on a young female, her pink eyes staring at her parents, her hair dyed with highlights of orange. The girl slowly moved her eyes and her pink orbs with Kanao's. While the girl stared blankly at Kanao, Kanao was embarrassed. She always hated making eye contact with anyone!
Kanao pondered through her thoughts for a moment. 'What was her name again...' She escaped a tiny sigh before realizing she was staring at the young boy across from her. She never realized how... attractive he was. Kanao sunk into her chair; there was no way that she expected herself to call him, quote on quote, alluring!
As Kanao was busy staring at the boy, he turned to his sister as he felt uncomfortable when he noticed her staring at him.
"Nez, let's go get snacks." His sister nodded as they both stood up. Kanao's eyes followed the guy as he walked out of the room. Nezuko, on the other hand, whispered to her mother before leaving. Kanao mentally slapped herself as she acknowledged she stared at the guy too much.
If she had to be honest, Kanao had been interested in him since they were in primary school. His cold gaze, yet with a warm personality, consistently caught her attention. The raven-haired teenager sighed, swiveling in her chair.
"May he be cursed..." Kanao muttered. Everyone in the room turned to her confusingly. Kanao sensed a glare coming from Nezuko's young brother, causing her to feel uncomfortable in this situation. The raven-haired teenager laid her head on the desk, cursing herself internally.

"I'll sleep here, and you'll sleep there," The red-haired pointed at the ground. Kanao stared at him, dumbfounded. Tanjiro walked over to the bed and sat down while pulling his phone out of the pocket of his sweatpants.
Kanao sat on a sofa that was randomly in Tanjiro's room. Being bored, she examined his room; Guitars hanging on the wall; A painting of his Grandfather, Kanata; And a picture of his youngest brother... or so she thought. Kanao stared at the picture frame on his desk while wondering why she's never seen him around. Perhaps it's a sensitive topic to ask him about,
Meanwhile, the redhead looked up from his phone, only to find Kanao staring at the picture on his desk. An audible sigh came from his lips, causing the young female to look at him. Their gazes met each other as Kanao quickly looked away. Curiously, Tanjiro questioned the young female.
"Are you wondering why you've never seen him around?" Kanao felt the tension rise in his room. She nodded in response as she stared at the picture.
"He passed away a few years ago." Kanao aught idea of how to respond. She stared at Tanjiro-who continued texting someone. Kanao pondered through her thoughts, wondering why they'd always... hated each other...
Tanjiro put his phone on his desk as he sat on his sofa beside the raven-haired teenager. She tensed up, her hands clenching the hem of her skirt.
Tanjiro noticed her tense up. If the redhead had to be honest, he's never told anyone about his deceased younger brother. Tanjiro, who's always apprehending the situation he sometimes... put people in, stretched his arms before speaking. He was hoping to clear up a secret.
"If they didn't prescribe the wrong medication, he'd probably still be alive," Kanao could feel sadness coming from the tone of his voice.
"It's why I always thought hating you would help me over it..." The raven-haired teenager stared in confusion. What did the situation have to do with her?
"What does it have to do with me?" She questioned. Tanjiro went silent before grabbing her hands out of nowhere, leaving a flabbergasted Kanao.
"I'm sorry. It's just after I found out about your sisters... I thought maybe making your life hell would be a perfect solution..."
"I don't understand..."
"Erm, let me say this lightly, and don't take it to heart." Hearing this sentence, Kanao felt anxious. Inside felt like butterflies were invading her stomach, making her head spin. What had her sisters done that made this teen hate her? She's always wondered ever since they were in the primary. The redhead had always competed with her. Tanjiro had made it evident that he would loathe her for eternity!
"Your elder sister prescribed Rokuta the wrong medication." Kanao stared in confusion. How could she have prescribed them the wrong medication? And there, like the redhead had read her mind, he had answered her question.
"He was deadly allergic to something in the medication prescribed. She told us that the medicine didn't include Acetaminophen, which was a lie..." Tanjiro sighed as he stared out the window. Kanao, on the other hand, was lost in this conversation. Why would the medicine even include Acetaminophen? It was evident that the drug was ILLEGAL in Japan.
"Anyways, since we're stuck in this marriage until the contract is over, let's be friends." Tanjiro stuck his hand out as he gave her a small smile. The redhead felt relieved that he had spoken to Kanao about why he hated her. The guilt had been eating him up ever since secondary school.
In response, Kanao smiled at him as she shook his hand, slight blush appeared on her face. Maybe he wasn't so bad after all.
---------------
"I'm surprised you turned over a new leaf, Tanjiro." The redhead stared at the ocean as a pair of hands grasped against his shoulders.
"You're finally a father... Especially being married to... Uhm, what's her name again?" He questioned. Tanjiro smiled as he turned to look at his best friend who stood behind him.
"It's Kanao, Zenitsu." Tanjiro walked towards the penthouse where he stayed. Zenitsu exhaled in silence.
"Don't even try, Inosuke." The blonde muttered as he followed the redhead. Inosuke jumped out from the sand, a red tick appearing on his forehead,
"Damn, you Monitsu!!"
