I'm home!

I sat my bag on the table

Dad?

"Welcome back via!"

"How was it?"

It was great! I found a tree house in the woods about half a mile behind the abandoned building. I'm planning on fixing it up, put some lights mabye some art work, it'll be great!

"Wow that sounds like a wonderful Idea Octavia!"

My stomach growled

Pfft haha, I guess all the exploring made me hungry.

"Haha, I can get dinner started? Blitzy and loona should be getting home in less than an hour, it'll be ready for them when they get here."

Ok!

Today was actually really good. It may be because mom has been gone... I know she's my mother and it isn't right to have these thoughts about her but she kinda ruined everything.

Dad brought out a plate with potatoes, steak and green beans

"You ok via?"

Huh! Oh, yea, just thinking about how much better things have been.

The door opend

"Hey baby!"

"Hello darling, I've prepared dinner!"

"Aw sweet! Your cooking is always the best!"

"Wussup girl!"

The whole family sat at the table and began eating the meal

That word echoed in my head

Is this a family?

It may be messy...

It's not perfect whatsoever...

But I love them all...

"Wow stols this is great!"

He had potatoes on his face and his mouth was stuffed with steak

Loona had put down her phone and actually was present for this meal.

If something is worth putting her phone away for, then she must really be enjoying herself

"So, loona? How was work?"

He sounded genuinely interested

"Same old same old. Just answering calls and doing paperwork."

"And how about you blitzy?"

"I fucked this bitches whole world! Another happy client."

He spoke with pride

"Hoo hoo. Bravo!"

They were so sappy

Looking around the table at all the smiles and hearing the laughter, I thought to myself

This really is my family

I allowed a soft smile to tease across my beak

Once the meal was finished we all helped with the clean up

I brought the dishes to the sink, dad and papa washed and dried them and loona cleaned the off the table

"Say, how about we have some alone time?~"

My father caressed blitz's horns

"Uhhh, wanna hang out in your room, I don't wanna hafta hear this shit. Haha"

Loona pulled me aside and spoke to me
