AUDREY SAT ON THE EDGE OF THE DOCK, her feet dangling into the water. It's dark outside, the glow of the full moon reflected off the water and shone onto the girls face.
It was peaceful, the only sound heard was the rustling of animals traipsing through the woods and the frogs singing to the stars.
"Audrey! Time for bed!" Grayson Gilbert called from the deck of the Gilbert Lake house
10 year old Audrey immediately pulled her bare feet from the water and ran up the dock, the smacking of tiny wet feet being heard along with the small shake of the wood.
A cracking sound made Audrey halt to a stop, before she suddenly fell through the wood and into the cold lake water. Her shrill scream cutting through the air. Her knowledge of swimming went out the window and she was overwhelmed with fear and panic.
The lack of oxygen made the small girls head spin and lungs burn, her mouth opened as she let out a silent scream of terror. Black spots filled her vision and the last thing she saw before they fluttered closed was a set of dark blue eyes.
"Audge. Audrey." Elena's voice snapped her out of her dream causing Audrey's eyes to flutter open, seeing her twin leaning over her
"What?" Audrey grumbled rolling away from her
"We're gonna be late for school if you don't get up now." Elena said crossing her arms over her chest making Audrey groan as she rolled onto her back
"Just go without me." Audrey waved her off and Elena scoffed
"Not a chance. Come on sleepyhead." Elena said grabbing Audrey's hand and pulling her out of bed, ignoring her twins protests
"Is that my shirt?" Audrey asked when she saw the turquoise long sleeved shirt she recognized as her own
"Maybe. But that's not what's important right now, so get up before we're late." Elena demanded, playfully smacking Audrey's leg
The girl sighed but nonetheless got out of bed and made her way to her closet to get dressed before walking into the bathroom to quickly and messily curl her hair before doing some makeup.
