(A/N: Tori does not look like JJ. Above is simply used to give an example of her outfit and body type)

I always forget why I hate my alarm clock.

That is until it's obnoxious tone disturbed my peaceful sleep.

I groaned and threw my alarm clock at the wall. At least it shut up.

I got out of bed and went to my closet. I put on darkwash jeans, a black belt, and a form fitted black shirt with sleeves down to my elbows. I also put on my watch and slipped my MacBook, planner, and book (dianetics: the modern science of mental health) into my bag.

I applied light makeup and fixed my hair. I then slipped my FBI ID and phone into my pockets and made sure food and water were out for my pets.

I got into my car and drove to the little coffee shop I went to yesterday.

"Regular coffee with 6 sugars please." I ordered. The lady behind the counter smiled and walked over to the coffee machine.

"Cappuccino, please." a voice next to me ordered. I looked over and instantly recognized the woman next to me.

"Jennifer Jareau?" I asked. She looked over to me, alarmed that a complete stranger knew her full name.

"Sorry, I'm Tori Shields, today is my first day with the BAU, and I read up on you guys so I'd know your names.." I explained. She smiled. "oh! So you're the girl Reid won't shut up about!" She said. I raised an eyebrow.

"Your resume impressed him." she laughed. "Your IQ is almost as high as his! Two points off actually..." I smiled and picked up my coffee. Of course I already knew Dr. Reid's IQ but I'm glad to know my resume impressed him.

"I'm glad to know I've made an impression" I said.

"Miss Jareau" the lady handed her the coffee and she thanked her. "well I'll see you in a minute then!" "See you" I smiled as she walked out.

The elevator was approaching the BAU and my nerves increased with every floor I passed. The doors finally opened and I slowly made my way out.

I looked at my phone, no text from Michael. I sighed. I shouldn't have expected one, I doubt he even knew today was my first day.

"Miss Shields!" Gideon called as he walked up to me. "great to see you again, come meet the team." he led me into the office and to the conference room where everyone was seated. They all stood up as I walked in.

"Everyone, this is-"

"Dr. Shields! IQ of 185, PhD in chemistry and engineering, Masters in psychology and sociology, Harvard valedictorian, your resume is quite impressive" Dr. Reid came up to me and shook my hand.

"I'm-"

"Dr. Spencer Reid, resume not far off mine, IQ of 187. You're not the only one who does their research, Doctor." I said, still shaking his hand. I saw something spark in his eye, not of anger, but of interest. Must be the first time he's been challenged.

"Woooo, I like her already." Agent Morgan said, as he leaned against the table with his arms crossed. I turned to him.

"Agent Morgan" I said, shaking his hand. I turned to the lady at his right.

"Penelope Garcia, I'm a huge admirer!" I exclaimed, shaking her hand. "Y-you admire me??" She asked.

"of course, you hacked into the FBI's database. that's not exactly easy" I said.

"Tori!" I turned around and hugged the blonde. "JJ!" I laughed.

"You two know each other?" Reid asked. "We met in the coffee shop this morning." JJ explained.

"And these are agents hotchner and Greenaway." I turned to face the two agents and shook their hands.

"Alright agents, I'm afraid our little meet and greet is going to have to be cut short, we've got a case." Gideon said and we took our seats.

I sat in between Morgan and Reid, who snuck a glance at me. Morgan leaned over to JJ, and whispered.

"I think pretty boy's got some competition"
