Taking place before the Gel-Squad. Kai and Bodi are brothers of a fallen tribe. This is uncommon among Omeocoons because they take great pride in building their communities and families— so, for one to collapse is highly unprecedented, and that essentially means that whoever survives the collapse is pretty much on their own if they refuse government assistance. From then on, the 'lost ones' are welcome to move to the main city or join a new island community. However, when the opportunity arrived, Kai did not want to live a meaningless existence as a refugee; he wanted to be free; he was an explorer at heart, and if he had the chance, he would've been an astronaut properly, he was a rock climber, a problem solver. And now that he was alone, many bridges wouldn't be burned if he decided to launch himself into space; there was nothing left on Omeocoon for him, and he realized that immediately as soon as his parents died—thankfully, Bodi didn't need that much convincing, it helped that he was more than eager to see the galaxy, to get out there. Kai saw this as an opportunity to help them both forget.
It took the two brothers quite a while to build the confidence and resources necessary to leave their small island for the entire universe—as Omeocoon did not often travel to space for exploration. The duo entered a somewhat elite group of individuals—their bravery and determination were used as an example to just about every Omeocoon who wanted to explore the galaxy. On the other hand, some Omeocoons viewed them as foolish—they thought that stumbling drunkenly from star to star was not one of the ideals of their culture, hence why they refused to set up a proper space agency(the occupation left a bad taste in their mouths.)
On the day of their departure, no one saw them off; they didn't have anyone left to. They did have each other; Kai and Bodi would live among the stars. The two never filed a flight plan; they just pointed their small vessel toward open space. And they were never heard from again.
