When they had finally caught up to Lo'ak, he was already attempting to pull out the sky peoples device, that was plunged between Payakan's protective shell, out."Help me bro!"
Despite their argument that they had merely ten minuets ago, he was desperate for his brothers and friends help. His spirit brother was in trouble, and he wanted more than nothing than to pull it out.
Neteyam jumped off his ilu, climbing up to Lo'ak as he attempted to pull it out. "Call it in! Call dad!" Neteyam urged, Lo'ak sharing a look of uncertainty with him. "Call dad just do it!" Giving him no chance to respond, he dragged Lo'ak upwards.
Paying no attention to the commotion above, Ayatney looked back to check on Kiri and Tuk who had tagged along. She was more than upset when both girls didn't listen to her to stay within the reefs, their safety was put at risk out here. Especially now that Payakan had a tracking device on him.
"It is coming!" Tsireya cried out, her voice straining in fear.
Clambering up onto the outcasted Tulkun's back, Ayatney brung a rope with her, tying it at the bottom of the pinger before handing the rest of the rope to Neteyam.
"Tie it onto the ilu!"
He followed her command, creating tsaheylu and willing the ilu to flap its fins as hard as it could. With all of their combined strength, the group fell into the waters with a cry.
Everyone tried to collect themselves in the short amount of time they were given, but they rushed each other to get on their ilu's.
"Go that way! I'll throw them off!" Neteyam ordered. Ayatney shook her head, blinking away the currents that splashed into her face. "I am coming with you!"
Everyone had already heeded his words, diving down to hide. The two were the only ones left on the surface and they were running out of time.
There was little time to argue with the girl. So reluctantly, Neteyam scowled angrily as he pulled her up behind him. Handing her the beeping device, he wrapped his free hand under the fold of her knee and placed her arm around his mid section.
"What ever happens, do not let go."
Taking a deep breath, Ayatney nodded, securing her arm around his waist as they were submerged by the water and briskly swam away.
She held the device behind them, the sound coming from it echoing in her ears.
Glancing upwards, she was able to make out an ikran flying above. It would have given her hope to see that something so familiar was near, but as she observed closer at the disoriented shape, Ayatney was able to make out all of the foreign materials strapped around its body.
The ikran wasn't sent from her people or any neighboring clans, more like it was a demon in a Na'vi appearance had bonded with their wonderful creatures. Used for the terrible war they had caused.
Up ahead, Neteyam saw something plop into the water. It ticked a few times before it exploded, sending sound waves that hurt his ears. He redirected the ilu, hoping to swerve away from the familiar little bombs that landed in the water before exploding.
Ayatney shut her eyes in pain, eardrums beating painfully at the same pace as her racing heart.
It seemed to have ceased, the ilu still swimming at its fullest speed. Seeing as they were a good distance away from the others, Ayatney finally let the device slip from her hand. Watching it slowly latch onto the coral and rocks as it became ever so small.
