Champagne Problems

Flashback

It was a sunny november day in Monaco. Amélie and Charles had just came back from a little trip to Italy. They had a nice time in Italy and their bond grew even thicker. It didn't seem like they would break up just a few weeks after.

About 6 weeks after their trip Amélie started to have morning sickness. She didn't want to tell Charles, as he had started his preparations for his first Formula 1 season. He signed with Sauber, but he is hoping to sign with Ferrari. Moreover, she didn't want to stress him out with her being sick. He has to concentrate on his big dream.

Its been now a week that Amélie had morning sickness, so she decided to go to see a doctor about it. It didn't slip her mind that she hadn't had her period, but it often happens to her through stress and everything. She still had one thought. Pregnant. But would she really be pregnant? Would her and Charles be ready for a baby? They've been together for 7 months now and already moved in together after the second month, but would they overcome this hurdle? They decided things very fast in their relationship, but a baby now?

Shortly after Charles went to training, Amélie made her way to the doctor. She had to figure out how she would tell Charles about it.

Amélie got into the doctors office and waited for her appointment. As she got called up she had a tingling feeling in her stomach.

‚Now or never' she thought to herself and went into the doctors room. She sat down on the chair and next to her was the ultrasound machine.

„So what got you here today, Ms. Blanchet?" the doctor asked. She looked quite young for a doctor. She was not over 35.

„I've had morning sickness for the last week and haven't had my period in a while" Amélie told her.

„Do you know approximately when you had you last period?" she asked Amélie.

„It must have been in the middle of November, right before my boyfriend and I went on a trip" Amélie answered her

„Well it's January so we have to check for a possible pregnancy. You have to pee into this cup and then we proceed to take a test" the doctor smiled at Amélie.

After Amélie was done the doctor went into another room to take the test.

Amélie patiently waited and was stressed out. She didn't know if she wants to have a baby. She was still very young and had her whole life infront of her.

The doctor came back in and Amélie nervously looked at her.

„Congratulations Ms. Blanchet, you are pregnant" she said smiling.

Amélies heart stop beating.

Pregnant.

Even though her intuition already knew that she would be pregnant, she still hoped it was something else.

„You are around  7 weeks pregnant so I'll give you an appointment in one week for your 8 weeks check and then one in a month again for your first trimester " she said and wrote everything down. She gave Amélie the note.

„Thank you so much!" Amélie smiled and left the room.

She had to tell her family first. Maybe they know what to do. She sent a message to their group chat to meet at her parents apartment.
She pulled up at her parents apartment and walked upstairs. She came in and her parents and sister already waited for her in the kitchen.

„What do you have to tell us?" her mother bluntly said

„It has to be something important, if you called us together" Relia, her sister, added.
