I decided to make up for my terrible updating schedule by writing in that scene that I know everyone has pretty much just been waiting for.
I'm sorry again and I love you.
Enjoy...?
❝Pygalgia- a pain in the ass. Literally.❞
"I know, I know. What? No! Look, we're not stupid. Okay well, maybe we are, but we're not stupid stupid. Yes! Yeah, enough. Okay. Okay! I promise! Okay? Ugh. Alriiiiiiight."
Gerard had been on the phone to his dad for the best part of twenty minutes. Initially the conversation had been mainly raised arguments, but thankfully, had since seemed to calm down a little. It was still raining a little, a cold shower of drizzle that was more annoying than anything. We'd been overwhelmed with panic at first- with absolutely no idea what to do. There were no more trains, no more buses, and no way that Gerard's parents could pick us up. His mom because she couldn't drive. His dad because he was in Ohio at the moment, and wasn't getting back for another three days.
Eventually Gerard realised the best bet was to just call him, and see what he said. At least that way, anything that happened wasn't our fault. An optimistic look was a bit terse, but it was the best we could do in the situation.
"Okay. Okaay. Dad, seriously, if I have to say okay one more time... Yeah. Okay. Bye, then."
Rolling his eyes in that over-dramatic manner that I wished I could achieve, Gerard turned to me as he shoved his phone down into his pocket. He sighed, ruffling his black fringe upwards.
"Well, it's not really that great, but we're going to have to find a hotel and stay there tonight."
I could tell just from the way he was speaking that he was anxious to find out what my reaction was going to be. Honestly, I didn't really mind too much- it was a bit of an adventure. I'd stayed in hotels before, but never by myself (or with Gerard, obviously.) I found myself shrugging.
"That's actually kinda cool," I said simply, not really wanting to be overly excited about it when Gerard actually looked kinda pissed about it. Why, I couldn't really say, but he did.
It was almost funny to see how quickly he perked up at that. "You don't mind?"
My mouth curled inwards slightly, and I shrugged heavily again. "No."
Gerard sighed. He looked really tired, I could see even from here. "I'm sorry, Frank. This is such a pain in the ass."
"No it isn't," I rallied. "It could be quite fun, really."
Gerard's dark eyes met mine from underneath his eyelashes. "You think?"
I nodded curtly, and took his hand in mine, noticing how warm it was. Gerard never seemed to go out in anything more than a hoody, even at night in the cold like this. Originally I'd thought it was because he had this whole image to keep up, but since contact with him, I'd worked out that it was simply because he didn't need to.
"Well, Frank, it's not going to be any fucking fun until we actually find somewhere to stay."

The first hotel we went into wanted fifty dollars for one night. The second one wanted thirty, but was filthy and had dodgy-looking people milling around in the foyer. The third one had no rooms left. The fourth one had no proper lighting and put the shits up me so much that we walked back out again.
