"Zenitsu! Stop being such a chicken!" Y/n yelled at Zenitsu cowering on the ground behind a tree. Y/n angrily grabbed the back of his coat, dragging him along the grass.

"Please!! Im gonna DIIIIIEEEEE!!" He screamed, trembling in fear. "This is supposed to be our mission!! Quit saying you're gonna die!"

I might just be heroic and see if that'll cheer him up, that's what Tanjiro said at least. Y/n thought, turning around to Zenistu.

"But-" He tried to speak, "Zenitsu! As long as i'm here!! You won't have to worry about dying!" She blurted out. Zenitsu looked up to her, it seemed like a light was shining out from behind her dramatically.

Y/n turned slightly red out of embarrassment, but Zenitsu was sparkling with relief. "Thaaaaank you Y/n-Chaaaaaan!" Zenitsu turned around and hugged Y/n's legs. Y/n groaned, a little surprised by his strength.

Zenitsu walked behind Y/n the whole way. Eventually the crow they were following stopped. "KAW! THE LAST PLACE THE DEMON WAS SPOTTED WAS HERE!! KAW!" Y/n looked around, putting a hand on her handle. Zenitsu frantically looked around, latching onto Y/n's Kimono.

Y/n's eyes wandered to a large tree. "Woah.." She marveled at how tall it was. Y/n walked uop to the tall tree, and looked around the large trunk, finding a somwahat low branch to jump on. She jumped up and started to jump from branch to branch.

When she jumped, Zenitsu let go and watched her go up. Y/n came to an opening in thr tree. It looked like agiant squirel would live there. "Woah.. Zenitsu! Come up here you gotta see this!" Y/n called to him. Zenitsu agressivley shoook his head.

"Ok.. Guess if the demon is on the ground-" Y/n was about to finish her sencence, but he sped up the trunk and stoos by her side. "Ok! Now let's go inside!" Y/n jumped over the entrance and walked into the darkness. "C'mon! It's fine." She walked further into the darkness. Rustling was suddenly heard. She unsheathed her swrod. The sound of meatal clanking was heard several times. Then silence. Zenitsu heard something slightly moving.

Y/n's heartbeat was going faster. Then it started to go slower. He heard her having a hard time breathing.

"Y/n- chan..." Zenitsu shook in his place, slowly inching twoards the entrance.  He heard foot steps rapidly aproaching the entrance. A mangled face emerged from the darkness. It was an ugly face made out of wood.

"YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Zenitsu shrieked. He passed out. Making a slight sound when his back hit the floor. The demon smiled, with his ugly wooden body started to creak twoards him.

Zenitsu suddenly dissapeared. The demon looked around, realizing Y/n had already been freed from his hold on her. Zenistu held Y/n in his arms. She starred at Zenitsu in shock. "Zenitsu?" She asked, her throaght slightly hurting. He placed her on her feet. Y/n looked at him. His back was facing her. Y/n was a light pink.

Zenitsu pushed his foot back, putting a hand on his handle. The demon shot branches at the both of them. Y/n held her katana out in front of her.

Zenitsu dashed in front of him, dodging the branches easily. Y/n managed to hold her own, when The branches stopped. Y/n looked over at Zenitsu. He was on the other side of the demon. It looked like he didn't even unsheath his katana.

The wood demon's head fell off. It screamed and complained as it desolved. Y/n was about to walk over, as her adreniline wore off, she realized the demon mightv'e broken a rib or two while squeezing her. She fell onto one knee, holding her chest.

"Huh? What happened?" Zenitsu stood up, looking around. He spotted the disolving demon. "YAAAAAAAAh! Y/n you slayed it! Thank you so muuuuuuch!" He ran over to her, giving her a hug. Y/n whinced, trying to push him off.

"WAAAH?! Your'e hurt! What happened?!" Zenitsu paused. Wait. A girl injured... not only a girl, but the girl I like?! This is my chance! Zenitsu thought to himself. HE made a somewhat heroic face. "Don't worry i'll carry you!" He said to her. Y/n was not listening. She was trying to breath, but she passed out from the pain, but Zenitsu caught her as she fell. He turned a bright red, paniking. He listened to her heartbeat, and she was fine. He put her katana back in her sheath.

Zenitsu lifted her onto his back, walking to the entrance. He peeked out, checking around. Zenitsu quickly jumped down tha tree and walked off into the forest. "Ooooh.. which way was it?" He mumbled, looking around. "Oh I remember now." Zenitsu then proceeded to walk the opposite way. After ten minutes of walking Y/n woke up, still in pain. "Zenitsu... You rgoing the wrong way..." Y/n whispered. "AAAAAAAAAH! YOu gotta warn me before you suddenly talk!" He said, flinching.

"Sorry.. Turn all the way around and head that way." Y/n told him, leaning into Zenitsu's neck. Zenitsu's face truned a but red, but her turned the way she told him and started to walk that way.

As they walked in silence, Y/n tapped Zenitsu's shoulder. "What is it Y/n-chan?" He asked, directing his eyes to Y/n. "Do you like someone?" She asked, so plainly. He turned red and faced forward. "Yes.. I do.." Zenitsu said, Y/n frowned.

Her heart.. Beats a sad tone. Could it be.. She like me? Zenitsu thought, hoping it was true. "Well, whoever it is. You should give up on them." Y/n said. Sounding confident, but actually she was hazy and dizzy. "What?! Why?!" Zenitsu said, stopping and looking at Y/n. Her face was red. "Because... I like you." Y/n tensed up a little bit, expecting a rejection. Zenitsu's breath cane short, he heard her heart beat swell up with truthful love.

"Well.. The person I like. is you." He told her. Blushing a darker red. Y/n flinched when she heard it. "Why.. didn't you tell me earlier?!" Y/n yelled out of no where, scarring him again. "And cary me the other way!" She ordered.

"Huh?!" Zenitsu was confused, "The way you saved me!! In your arms! I like it better like that." She mumbled the last part, knowing he heard. Zenitsu sighed and gently put her on the ground, when he turned around to face her, Y/n leant against him and put her face close to his. "Is this ok.." She asked, Zenitsu pulled her in all the way.

Their lips interlocked for a second, before they both pulled away. "Why do you have to so forward?! It's almost scary that your so extroverted." He said, picking Y/n up the way she wanted. Y/n put her arms around his neck gently. "Now I can see your face." Y/n said, staring into Zenitsu's golden eyes. Zenitsu struggled not to smile and looked at her as he walked towards the base.

"So.. are we a thing now?" Zenitsu asked, Y/n nodded and smiled. "But let's keep it a secret, and see how long poeple find out. it'll be funny when we are suddenly close." She snickered. Zenitsu giggled, and opened his mouth to speak.

Yea.. Y/n. I just want to let you know...
