The Secretary and Her Child

My office door opens and my little girl runs in. I look towards the baby sitter "steph what happened?". "My mother wants me home im so sorry miss harris" She says before leaving. I pick finley up and I sit her on my knee "what do I do with you now..".

I sit in my office for 10 minutes before fin starts getting cranky. I get up and I go to fallons office. I make sure to knock before I walk in. I sigh when I notice Emily is gone and its just fallon. She smiles at finley and comes to grab her from me "hey princess what are you doing here?".

"The baby sitter couldn't watch her anymore so brought her here..can I go early shes hungry.." I ask. Fallon looks at me for a few seconds then grabs her car keys "ill drive you home". "You don't have to ma'am..I can get a cab.." I say starting to walk out. I hear her following me and I sigh.

We get in her car and she starts driving. I feel her hand on my thigh and I look down at it "girlfriend". "What?" She looks at me confused. "You have a girlfriend...hands off" I say pushing her hand away. We pull up to my house and I get our the car.

I spot a large parcel outside my door and I groan "can you wait here with finley I have to take that up..". She nods and I get put the car. I pick the box up and I walk inside. I gasp when I'm pushed against the door by my neck.

"We want the money" a man shouts at me. I look into his eyes. I know that look. He's high. "W..what money?" I choke out. "The money your fucking theif of a husband owed me" the man shouts at me. "I don't have any money to give you...get off me!" I shout as I push him off me.

I make a run for the stairs and as im going up he grabs my ankle. I slip and my head hits off the step. I feel blood rushing down my forehead and I groan. The man pins me to the wall and his hand goes to my throat. I scratch at his arm to try and get him off but I recieve a punch to the eye instead.

As he goes to punch me again he is pulled off me and I drop to the floor. I watch as fallon pushes him to the floor and repeatedly punches him until he passes out. She moves away and rushes to hug me. I break down crying as she takes me back to the car.

As soon as we get in she feeds finley some chicken nuggets before putting her to bed. The whole time I sit on her sofa and stare at the floor. How did James manage to get me into this mess?

The sofa sinks beside me and i look at fallon. "You need to explain everything to me..and no lying.." she says. I stay quiet and I hear her sigh. She puts a movie on and i stay silent.

After half an hour I finally speak "James died..m..my husband..he died..W..when..we found out i was pregnant he..worried about money..got into selling drugs a..and 2 months before I had finley he started taking them. One..time he sold them...and didnt g..give in the money..s..so..they..came to our house a..and shot him I.. infront of his w..wife and a 3 month old..".

I feel arms wrap around me and I lean against her. "So why..were those people there again?" Fallon asks whilst kissing my cheek. "I..im guessing he's done that multiple times..a..and they want money for it.." I say looking up at her. "Well..your staying here until I know they won't go back for you.." I watch as she smiles at me then gets up.

She leaves the room and comes back in 5 minutes later with a tub of ice cream and two spoons. I feel her hand on my thigh and I mutter "girlfriend". She nods and takes it off and we sit and eat ice cream.

The next morning I wake up in the guest room alone. When I went to sleep I was laid next to finley. So where the hell is my daughter? I get up and I go downstairs. My heart stops when I spot a trail of blood leading to the kitchen.

I walk in and I scream when I see my tiny baby girls dead body on the floor with a bullet in the head. I look to my left and the man from yesterday is stood there holding a gun to fallons head. "D..dont hurt her..you already k..killed my baby.." I cry out. I scream as the gun goes off.

My eyes dart open and I sit up in bed. I struggle to catch my breathe as I look around. I calm down when I see my daughter laid peacefully next to me. It was just a dream...

I stand up out of bed and I decide to go get a glass of water. I freeze in the doorway of the kitchen when I spot fallon stood between emilys legs as shes sat on the island. Emilys back is facing me but I can clearly tell what they are doing.

Fallon looks towards me and we make eye contact. Tears spring to my eyes and I quickly rush back to my room. Why am I crying over her? She has a girlfriend..a bitchy one..but still. She was teasing me not long ago..and now shes fucking her girlfriend in a place she knows I will go.

I struggle to sleep for the rest of the night and I keep staring at finley in the fear that she gets taken from me.
