I scrolled through picture after picture, I selected one with the red and black goop, watching as the colors moved and glowed in the Live Photos. I turned my head to see link soundly asleep, I smiled and looked through a few more photos. Taking a few notes in my notepad as well. Malice covered the castle and many of the grounds in Hyrule for many decades, now that it is gone we are finding some lasting effects including an odd sickness. I've gotten word from a few small settlements that some of their locals had fallen Ill, telling of their symptoms such as extreme fatigue, "distant eyes," nightmares, and even fingertips turning black. I wonder if the evil of the malice escaped and infected innocent people, those he traveled a lot, or dared to research it themselves.

Link and I have a few bags packed as we are planning to make some round trips to try and help out as best we can. Although no matter the research we do, link and I couldn't figure out a cure or at least not one that is sensible. I compiled a list of possible options such as the blood of the royal family such as mine or link, my theory was pure good could contrast to pure evil. My other one was to create a specialized prayer to Hylia in hopes she would grant a rebirth type of healing to someone whom was affected by this revolution. But my thought, how can there still be evil? Calamity Ganon was sealed away, my powers erased all evil from Hyrule. Could he be coming back? No that's absurd!

I watched the sun start to rise, I didn't get any sleep last night so I knew today would be a long day for me. Link rolled over taking the Sheikah slate out of my hands and pulling my head into his chest, I smiled and hugged him back closing my eyes a little. I felt safe. We stayed like this for a little bit before he yawned and started to more around a little more, rubbing his eyes and kissing the top of my head before rolling out of bed.

We got ready for the trip packing the bags onto our horses. Paya offered her help on the trip so we found a spare horse and got it sattled for her too. After Impas death, paya took over the village, I have many fond memories with Impa and fighting alongside her in the battle. I remembered our laughs and smiles, when she would visit the castle and link, Impa and I would go out to the temple of time or to the fields to research something. I remember that day paya looked like a new person, I never recognized her from that day. She no longer hid behind a scared young girl but instead was a brave young women willing to do anything for her people and her friends. She often loved to listen to stories of her mother from me or even village families whom had generations of stories.

We started our way to the zora first, they've had 2 guards fall ill. Then we will head to a few small villages on our way to the gerudo desert, where some of their guards have also fallen ill. Riju and Sidon had reached out to me in a panic, making special accommodations to isolate the ill in fear of it spreading. We reckoned it would be about a months trip but Paya offered to visit the small villages to help out more. She hoped on her horse and followed us halfway to the Zoras Domain before breaking off, we gave her a disk which would help keep her location on the Sheikah slate. It also had an sos feature which would help in emergencies, she waved off and said she would put a page on the disk when she was finished and would meet us at the desert. Link and I continued our way to the watery hills. It took us a few nights but finally we made it in 3 days time

Sidon and a few guards met us at the entrance. "Please my princess come quick" "of course prince Sidon." Link and I followed Sidon into their icu/hospitalization where he showed us around. He finally brought us back into a room speedster by plastic curtains to the floor, he pulled them back and let us in. The two zora were asleep, Link and I looked at their charts. Both were about 50 years old and were guards who had been sent to explore some malice that had collected by the waterfalls. They had to defeat a few malice ridden bokoblins and were instructed to further inspect them. Both of them had touched them and came back to the palace, after a week they had shown signs of nightmares, coldness, and those dead eyes people were talking about. I grabbed a gown and put it over my travel cloths. "Sidon, mind if I use these" I pointed over to a few medical tools. He nodded his head, I took a flashlight and shone it into the zoras eyes, I was so surprised I stepped back nearly dropping it. "What is it?!" Sidon yelled. I had to catch my breath, I turned to Sidon "their eyes" I said quietly, "are all cloudy" "yeah that's what people mean by "dead eyes" "I guess I was t expecting that." I picked up the flash light checking the other zora's eyes. Link had also partaken in looking over, he also inspected their finger tips, or webs for that matter. They had become black and cold, probably dead and their webs had started to flake off in between. "We've put them into a sedation as their nightmares got so bad they kept screaming and shaking, we thought it would be calmer to keep them this way and away from pain" "that's very kind of you Sidon and good thinking." Link and I stepped back taking the gowns off. May we see where it happen? Sidon nodded and motioned for us to follow with the 2 guards.

After a long days trip to the waterfall we recovered no information. Other than where the malice was left the ground was dead under with which had happen at the castle too. Eventually we were able to dig up the ground and replant grass seed, so it wasn't a surprise to me. There were also some bokoblin bones that had been buried and washed by the waterfalls nearby but they served as no use other than a few clicks of photos. "I'm sorry princess there isn't more here for you" "thank you Sidon, but it's helpful even if it was knowledge we already knew." Sidon nodded giving a little sigh and looking up at the sky, the sun had started to set "we should be making it back I'm sure you both are hungry and tired" link and I nodded our heads as we followed him back to the palace where he showed us to a bunker inside where link and I laid to rest after a long day.
